Unnerf AA weapons, by balancing it in a different way

Using anti-aircraft guns now in Enlisted is frustrating and not amusing. A quick analysis of why:

  1. they overheat too quickly.
  2. changing the placeholder “Flakvierling 38” to historical equivalents was a good idea, but ignored fact that the new cannons have much worse effectiveness.
  3. for balance, all AA guns and machine guns ( M2 .50 cal on a vehicles is considered by the developers as an AA weapon) have reduced infantry damage and tank penetration capabilities.
  4. The giant dot in the sight makes shooting at long-range ground targets frustrating, obscuring the view of small, distant targets.
  5. AA guns built by the engineer do not have the ability to lower the gun, leaving them unable to fight ground targets. For many players, this is an incomprehensible exception, causing confusion and disappointment.

It won’t fix everything but:
Please, allow the gun to shoot at the unit on the ground, but balance it in a less annoying way, without lowering the ability to shoot planes. Let the gun overheat quickly when aiming low, and very slowly when shooting at aircraft:

Just let it shoot units on the ground without weird balance rules.

The big problem with AA in the past was that it was unnecessarily difficult to snipe the gunner out, while AA guns indoor made for indestructible barriers that could lock down objectives.

AA guns should not be allowed to be build indoors, while making the gunner a bit easier to hit.

AA NEEDS to be able to participate on the battle, just waiting for a plane to pass is a waste of time.

Good idea. I know nothing about game developement so I dont even know if this is possible to code it in that way, but this might be the best solution ive read so far.

I don’t think the speed the gun take to overheat is not the problem, it’s the long cooldown time where you can’t use the gun after it overheat is the problem.

not a fan of overheat in general

overheat in my mind is to balance weapons with unlimited ammo…when they have ammo however, overheat can ferrrrk off

Apart from weapon arcs and overheat, AA weapons are still super strong at their intended purpose. (OP at their intended purpose in the right hands)

Overheat is ridiculous. Same goes out to one for APCs. No clue why this is so sensitive.

a good quality concept

these new weak ass AA guns dont need any nerfs at all, going from 4 barrels to 1,5 barrels is already a hardcore nerf. AAs need to be without overheating and aimable at all depressions.

in high br its very hard make they work properly

like i said before
More air defense fortifications
Better anti-aircraft guns
The simplest way is to cancel the current overheating and spare ammunition restrictions

This is not necessary

This is not necessary, it is a nice but unrealistic statement. It would be more realistic if the anti-aircraft guns could also shoot at ground targets since most AAs have a negative. had angles of -5° to -20° and one. positive angle from 0° to 100° (depending on which AA you have) and the new eight-eight on SD.KFZ can also shoot at a negative angle despite the fact that it is an AA on a half chain like the M16 with its dual .50 cal or the Japanese AA tank that can do that too. But I can also understand the fear if the anti-aircraft guns that can be set up are placed at the right angle on maps like D-Day and then the tanks and machine guns would then be able to shoot 20mm AA into the spawn
