Having to unlock the same weapons that you already own in different campaigns will be very tedious the more the game progress.
My suggestion. Make all campaigns have unique weapon unlocks that can be used in all campaigns. This will make the game much funnier as it promotes switching campaigns more often as I for example only play Normandy since I’ve spent so many hours getting stonked up and not really attracted to starting from scratch just to kill some soviets.

Yeah, they should find a way to figure that out. There will be 4 different Axis campaigns in the end, each with both unique and redundant weapons… it would be nice if we got a head start by having some weapons already unlocked.
This being said, knowing Gaijin from War Thunder, they want the grind to be intensive becuase they monetize it. The grind is how they make money, so it’s not in their financial interest to help us.

Would lead to every new campaign the German team would be over powered having all the equipment from the 2 current campaigns. If the British get added they’d have to fight Germans with squads with fully equipped squads.

various places ppl have suggested the Axis should be allowed to carry experience over between campaigns too - but it’s a REALLY BAD IDEA imo.
Carrying ANYTHING over from the axis campaigns into each other is OP.

do you and @48081364 realize that the same weapons, using the kar98k as an example, are also completely different in coding since the kar98k in moscow is a one star weapon while in normandy it’s the starting rifle for all german infantry
There should definitely be some sort of cross-campaign unlocks / perks. Otherwise you just incentivize people to stick solely to one faction in one campaign.
I hope they add some unlocks that would give people a reason to try out other campaigns, even if is just to unlock something for their “main” campaign.

The “spirit” of that idea is quite sound but putting in practice is the tricky part.
I suppose what they try to do is rework “lone fighter” mode so that it becomes a unified, more or less continuous and seamless “Career” mode of sorts. Follow the epic adventures of the Mauser bothers Hans, Fritz, Otto and Manfred as they stumble their way thru ww2 as German conscripts.
Keep “Squads” mode as sort of an “advanced training” kind of thing where progression is split up and more adjustable to the individual player’s taste.
Closer to “traditional” games of the genre yet allows you to limit duplicity of content.
They need to do something about it, even just right now unlocking 4 different progression trees is pretty tedious, especially if they’re more-or-less mirror copies like Normandy where switching to the less played faction feels like choosing to actively handicap yourself and denying yourself the good troops and guns. Considering the investment needed into making even one of them somewhat decently equipped it’s insane to expect players to do so 8 times, if not more so once new campaigns start being added.
One of the better steps would be making the achievement/battle task/challenge rewards redeemable once for every faction in each campaign.
Just give all forces the same starting gun (K98k or G33 for Germany, the Spinrgfield for USA and the M1907C for th SU) and let them share them thoughout the campaigns.
They wouldnt go for it because of three reasons:
One: Spagetti code would make this so buggy it would be a nightmare.
Two: This would be a massive buff to germany, which is far from fair to other players.
Three: it would severely shorten the overall grind, which is something i doubt they would go for.
