So we had some building limitations per player:
10 barbed wire
10 sand bags
1 rally point
10 anti-tank hedgehogs
3 ammo piles
And as per my expirience 2 or 3 players in team in average will utilize those limits meanwhile other player will have 0 points in engineers column.
So it basically means that every team lossing 70-80% of their defense potential due to lack of engineers in the team.
So why don’t we unify those limits and made them 10 times larger but per team, not per player.
Okay, we probably can’t do this for rallys since there is possibility to build 10 rallys in some troll place and it will ruin the gameplay but for other 4 buildings - there should be no problem in unification.
Ofc some squads have some AA/AT/LMG/HMG/etc. ulockable but since it requires some advanced logic - no need to unify those things.
The downside is troll and clueless players, spamming structure inside the cap or near rally point and hurt their team, for example building sandbag and wire all over the place or placing tank trap on the road their team tank should use… And a lot of other things
Good for you after 3 year and half playing this game I saw everything, for example time ago some players drive their tank inside the cap points (first point in Tunisia fortress map) for block the access and after build, Tons of wire, sandbag, AA and tank trap outside and inside near the two tank, effectively blocking the front door and side door…
Now this is a 4 chess move as defender and a very smart one, but being in the attacking team see this would make you rage quit, and if two players with limitations on building can build a fortress, what is going happen if they don’t have this limitations anymore?
Lol you already have a magical hammer that can build stuff which appear from thin air within a few second. Is it not enough for you?
Not to mention he didn’t even mention the next step of further limiting engineer. In fact this thread is about next step of decreasing the limit. So you are the one who wants a next step.
So if some random dude decides he needs his little sandbag ring around his rally point, I’m left with only 6 sandbags to put on objective? Nah I’m good

Well, to counter this we may have not 100% but 50%(I think this % may depend on game statistic of average unused engineer resources) to be shared across the team:
Every player will have e.g. 5 personel sandbags and 50 shared.
And at first player will use his personal limit and only then - shared limit.
This may be both flexible and protective way to share resources.

Honestly? I’d like the freedom that would bring. However, I would HATE to fight a competent Engie or a competent squad with a couple Engies under this proposed system
