Gold orders soldiers are just soldiers with level 5 unlock, but what is their starter perk was unique? Unique perk, not like + stamina or even better grenade throwing distance. Something like a Gold infantry soldier capture point ?% faster. Gold sniper with ?% less weapon sway. Engineer with better building limit (15 sandbag or 4 ammo box or etc.) Unique soldiers with each a unique perk (not a squad of 9 gold infantry with 9x capture point faster) Need a lot of idea if there’s a lot of gold soldiers loll

I have suggested this in the past. I also suggested letting them use both backpacks and secondary weapon slots. As it is now there is no reason to really get a gold order troop other than the novelty of the person they are based on and/or the little medal by their name.
That’s true. I have 4 gold soldiers orders available and don’t need them. Only 1 reason to “need” them is for example you’re in a low level campaign, unlock machine gun soldier slot in infantry squad but you didn’t unlock machine gun squad, so now a gold machine gunner (with a gold machine gun) is useful
In the past with the academy system, the gold order soldiers were some kind of useful as you needed quite a while to level a soldier up to 5 stars. Since then: they are obsolete.
