Unify the damage reduction trait of all iron helmets

and remove the damage reduction trait of rubber/wood/cloth
why all jp’s helmets no damage reduction?
USMC’s Camouflage M1 helmet or the paratrooper M1 helmet has the same inequality.
This is blatant discrimination.
If all iron helmets have unify damage reduction else no this denouncement

Anything that’s customization related is extremely inconsistent, low standard and unpolished.

It seems, once again, someone just didn’t bother to invest too much time into this.

Tbh I don’t know why this damage reduction exists at all.
It will maybe protect you from a pistol round at long distance so it’s basically useless. And only ppl who hang out in social media know it exists so it has basically 0 “immersion” impact.

I really don’t understand why devs implement such things and then “hide” them. I guess it’s a relic from times when the game was meant to be somewhat realistic.

If a bullet from a semi-automatic rifle hits a guy tike a helmet at 50m+, he will not die

Semi autos have about 12dmg at this range (if I remember correctly), with damage reduction you still do 200% damage so 24dmg. Without any perks, it’s enough to kill. Although RNG can always screw you and guy will only get downed.

That’s the value of a helmet.

If RNG is against you. You need about 20dmg to kill someone in one shot. Dude needs to have 100% hp and roll a dice to get downed instead of being killed. There is so much RNG involved, those 10% don’t matter.

I’d be more concerned with the vitality perk. Combined with helmet, it does have a chance to reliably prevent death.


To be clear, imo all those damage reductions should be removed. Cosmetic items shouldn’t affect gameplay in the slightest.

headshots get you 230% multiplier, so in most cases you will die when hit there. helmet mostly protects against stock smg and lowest damage smg(6.5 damage or less) if you have vitality perk on. if you have any smg with 6.6 or 6.7dmg it will kill in short range even with vitality perk. it could be useful on 20-30m+ cause of damage drop off, but with smg you are shooting multiple bullets, so it probably wont matter.

btw any hs with SA/SF/AR will probably be insta death with or without helmet. maybe you will have chance of only getting down against AR.

Japs have been a pretty low-effort, to be fair. All they do is add an OP weapon or vehicle and throw it to the side. They have yet to fix their uniforms and add camo nets with foliage.

Should they only be decorative? Then why are the warring nations of ww2 spending precious steel resources to produce these personal defences? And, as far as gameplay is concerned, you said yourself that it doesn’t affect lethality, so why would it affect the game? (Fairness? Or what the hell is balance?)

They were undefeated when it came to organic drip

cosmetics should always be just that, cosmetics to decorate your player. if they have functional use in game mechanic, then they should be moved to equipment like grenade bag.
