Underrated (?) Planes: fun fun fun

Instead of making suggestions, for a change I thought it might be cool to share some clips on things we already have that I find to be commonly under appreciated or very rare.

For a while now my main interest has been the plane side of Enlisted, so perhaps I will start there and see where it goes.

We all Know about P-47s, Corsairs, BF-110s, IARS, P-40s, IL 2 (1941), P-38s…but what about the countless others that are very rare and often deemed not useful/fun?

I have picked a few for starters That I find to be “VERY” good at their job, but rare to see in battle.

Starting with a few Soviet Beasts. I commonly see this Airforce labelled as weak. Not in my Experience :grin:

Meh - nothing particularly under-rated there at all IMO - personally I can barely hit the map with the Il-2-37’s cannons, but that’s just me - all the Soviet fighters are good IMO, and getting a gunner kill is unremarkable… other than being on the ground! :+1:

Come back to us with the REAL underdogs - SOC-1, E13K, Po-2, I-153, Hs-123, A5M (although those last 3 are fun to dogfight with! and very satisfying to get a kill with)!

yeah…first half is zero, second half is The Baby BR 1s being annoying. Can be quite fun

same as the Hs-123 and the I-153…i just havent been recording at the time

I remember a while back people complaining that they couldn’t shoot down Il-2’s with Stuka’s and 123’s - but you can… yo might just need 2 or 3 reloads to do it!! :smiley:

Remember how I can barely hit the map wit hthe 37mm’s??

Well there’s not many gaps in that Il-2 armour… so… unlikely for me!

well…to be fair I just spray in the cockpit area…any 7mm that gets through is just luck. (in the IL 2s case)…but it has happened a few times for me…All that practice Aiming Cannon birds.

That IL 2 (1941) is just…the bees knees in my book, takes hits like a boss…tanks AA/20mm quite a bit too

Ohoh you put your Potez gunner clip! Gotta say it’s my favourite :smile:

Have you got footage with the LA-7? Imo, it’s in the top position as a fighter plane.

not enough. Hasnt been much in the Air when I went to make clips. that and its much like the La 5 clips…just sniping :smiley:

Just feels like the apex predator to me. Ppl overlook it because it doesn’t have as much ammunition as other fighters (or bombs are too small for their taste)…

But as you said, sniper. Not many rounds required to take something down with it :smile:

I run ground attack aircraft. Fighters are an accepted risk. Half the time there’s none up.

That or there’s just Soooo many ground attack planes… That there’s no way to take them all out!

Played Japan yesterday. P38, p47 or even Corsair aren’t an issue… but… Usa team spammed and spammed them so much that as soon as I took one down another one appeared and already nuked the ground… I have to rearm from time to time :no_mouth:
