This is a bug that’s been around since '2021, and it mostly has to do with players leaving the game in the middle of a game.
If you play the game field and hunt planes enough times, you will encounter it many times.

Prior to this clip, my teammates and I, 2 planes attacked it, not destroying it but confirming the presence of hits. Then within those 3 seconds, this opposing aircraft visually looks like it blew itself up, but there is no indication in the upper right corner, and my bomber teammates and I did not receive any combat result or indications.
