Germany and the Soviet Union have powerful mortars with calibers larger than 80 mm, while Japan and the United States still do not.
When do you think they will be added?
The tier 5 mortars are quite useful in destroying tanks that are camping.
The Soviets and Germans always include mortar units for anti-tank use.
If you were to add tier 5 mortars to the US and Japan, what kind of mortars would they be?
M1 81 mm Mortar for the US?
Japan would be Type 97 81 mm infantry mortar?
Mortar units have other things to do besides hunting bots from a safe distance.
For example, if your teammates are actively attacking your CP and you can’t overrun it, or if the enemy is defending it well, mortars are the way to go.
If you can clean the area around the CP by launching mortars in time with your team’s attack, you will be able to control the CP in an interesting way.
If you go with your teammates at this time, you can experience a very active gameplay.
I honestly don’t know how to use the 60mm M2 in the US Army.
I use it for anti-personnel like the Tier 2 mortars, but I don’t know how much of an advantage it has over the Tier 2 mortars.
It is probably more powerful because of the increased caliber, but it can’t destroy tanks.
For now, I just take it out when I want to be Eugene Sledge.
Darkflow seems to believe 60 mm mortars are not light mortars. I explained that they are not worth as much and should have their xp cost. Then, I suggested that the M1 be added if they wanted an actual medium mortar for the US.
I want all of our MC’s. I feel they’re really under appreciated. Especially compared to say German and Russian TD’s, SPAA’s, APC’s, IFV’s, etc
Not to mention I LOVE the design philosophy of “we need a mobile/self propelled X”
“Strap it to a set of treads and send it into battle”
And so our Motor Carriers exist. Almost all of them take an existing tank or a halftrack and literally just strap whatever you need onto it. Anti tank gun? Strap it to an M3. Shove it inside a turret and strap that turret to a Stuart or a Sherman or whatever have you. Howitzer for indirect and direct infantry support on the frontlines? Same dang thing. Strap it to an M3. Shove it inside a special turret and strap that turret to a Stuart. Alternatively, just cram it inside of a Sherman or Pershing turret
Just the sheer simplicity of this philosophy makes me feel some sorta way
The Soviet Union had 3 types of mortars
But only the last one has anti-tank capabilities
The US military has two types but neither has anti-tank capabilities.
The Japanese army has only one conventional
Thanks. Well, depending on the map, you may hardly use it. Especially when most CPs are under a roof…
It may not even be a squad you keep in your deck all the time.
But they can be a really powerful squad on certain maps so if you feel up to it give them a try.
