Type A sword pistol couldn't even reload?

I saw this video on YouTube today:

And apparently the type A sword pistol couldn’t reload and was probably just used as a hilt. Can anybody disprove this?

hahah I thought of it yesterday too after seeing that xD
But well Enlisted model of it is different and blade is attached to the side of the pistol from what I remember from that bad April Fools event (I dont own it)

Why does it matter? There are many prototypes in Enlisted that were effectively non functional in reality.

It’s an old BP gun, when I was watching it I was wondering how the action would cycle if it had a blade going through the middle of it

It doesn’t really matter, I was just under the impression that the type A wasn’t a prototype and instead just a rare modification that functioned.

It doesnt go through the middle of it in Enlisted version, so it would work, but the blade would most likely break quickly

Not just prototypes - all kinds of automatic weapons had reliability issues compared to bolt action rifles - the real reason why those were the primary WW2 weapons.

They look like different guns, the in game model and the one in the video, probably a case of “don’t believe everything you see or hear on the internet” here if you ask for my opinion.

As we can see the blade is offset to the right of the gun, not through the middle. Wonky, but theoreticly functional.

Whatever fittings are used to fastened the blade to the gun does not nessesarily have to go though the magazine either, working around it would be weaker but far from impossible.

Sword pistol? :grimacing:
