Type 100 Silenced

Type_100_SMG_silencer~2

The Type 100 was one of the few submachine guns produced by Japan during World War II, used by paratroopers, special forces, and closed-field units.

Few people know, but a silenced version of the Type 100 SMG existed. These versions were extremely rare and used for specific infiltration, sabotage, or night combat missions. They were small-scale modifications, focusing on silent operations where the element of surprise was essential.

This weapon was never widely distributed, but its existence shows how Japan also experimented with specialized equipment, even if outside the conventional norm.

In my opinion, yes, of event

That would have been nice had Gaijin been wise enough to have something like this for this event, instead of just a couple guns. Especially for me as I dislike the Fedorov and already had three of the Japanese Thompsons, so after I got the fourth there was no motivation for me to continue. I tried the Fedorov, and even with the three shot burst the vertical recoil was so high I had to aim at the feet to get two rounds into the target.

Is there any evidence of its coexistence in real life? Photos or at least blueprints, documents. We need more than just some video game.

If I had any real evidence I would have put it

It’s hell searching for reliable sources of rare, prototype, experimental or design Japanese weapons

So “it existed” but you don’t have real evidence

Doesn’t that mean… it didn’t exist?

existed, a few months ago I saw on a forum that an Australian soldier found a Type 100 with a strange object on the end of the weapon (probably a silencer) but there is little information about it

So the Japanese can have a non-existent SMG with a silencer, but the Soviets can’t!?
Japanese bias

in general, this is a joke, I’m actually in favor, even if the only source talking about the existence of a silencer is some kind of document and a photo from the game.

I would love to see some evidence
