Presenting before you the Type 97 7.7mm fixed MG. This was an aircraft MG boasting a very high RoF. Could be a perfect analogue to the Stinger which the Allies got a few months back.
The second weapon is the Type 38 Short Rifle with the Type 96 LMG’s magazine. It is a trench variant of the classic bolt action rifle which can hold 30 rounds. Reminds me a lot of the Gewehr 98 War Mod which is there for the Germans.
I got another. Nambu 6.5mm Machine Gun. It was primarily a training MG, although I believe it also saw some very limited service in Okinawa, and were issued to civilians in preparation for an American invasion of Japan. No idea how well it fired real bullets instead of blanks. A pretty rare find and probably only good for around BR2, but an interesting gun nonetheless.
I’ve heard about this before. It couldn’t handle firing live ammunition. Any reports about it’s supposed combat usage is purely anecdotal and likely untrustworthy. I’m sorry but this ain’t Cod Vanguard, I like my novelties but this gun wasn’t made for combat and it could never perform in such a role
“Unfortunately, I was unable to find a photo of a Type 91 with a 60-round hopper, but interestingly enough, I was able to find a Type 3 with a 60-round hopper (this is not stated on Reddit, but looking at the size of the hopper, I can believe it:”
“The Type 3 and Type 91 have the same caliber, and the hopper was easily removable and could be put on another machine gun, so I’m pretty sure someone at some point put this larger capacity hopper on the Type 3.”
