Well, let’s get to the point, after considering balance, I hope these two tanks will join the battle as Premium vehicles.
the Italian M14/41/47/40 and the British M3 Stuart MKI
M41/41-47/40
This tank fixde an upgraded Italian 47 mm cannon- 47/40 mod.38 cannon, It has higher armor piercing ability than 47/32, it has the ability to deal with Grant at a certain distance, after all, under the current circumstances, it is difficult for axis tanks to deal with grant, the 75/32 SPG is not easy to use, it has no turret and no HE, and it is very unfriendly to novices. I hope that with this new vehicle, the situation will be better and the upgrade will be easier. Certainly, it would be better if this tank could have a Breda 13.2mm machine gun can be use like the Warthunder. (Most importantly, this is an Italian tank, please don’t add any more German tanks for the battle of Tunisia, I’ve really seen enough! )
M3 Stuart MKI
Like Grant, this tank was equipped with a 37mm M5 tank gun.(Well,I think I don’t need to say more about it’s performance in the game.) Compared with other low-level British tanks, Stuart have better firepower and protection. It can deal with all existing Axis vehicles in the battle of Tunisia, two m1919a4 machine guns on the turret can also deal with infantry well. And it is similar to the M14/41/47/40 performance mentioned above. (The British were the first to use the M3 Stuart in Africa in 1941, it was used in later campaigns in North Africa, so I think it should appear in the game.)
Nice idea, although I’m not so sure about the Italian one. I mean, it would be nice to have it in the game, but introducing better versions of regular vehicles as premium ones isn’t usually received very well by the community (ot at least in War Thunder it wasn’t).
Also, one thing:
I personally think that putting German squads (including vehicle ones) in this campaign isn’t bad. What is very bad and should be avoided is allowing Italian squads to use German vehicles and vice versa. I really don’t know why my Luigi can fly the Fw 190 or why Mario, Giorgio, Pietro, Marco and Stefano can drive the Panzer III (including the battle pass one with Afrika Korps markings).
Interesting ideas, however if I am not wrong; through my research I discovered that the specific model of the M14/41 in War Thunder that you present didn’t really exist as it is in game. Instead we could have a field modification of the M14/41 with the upgraded gun (like the one in the Tank Wiki image). Which I believe is basically the same as your suggestion but without the 13.2mm hull machine gun. Meanwhile the M15/42 is likely out of the question because it wasn’t used in North Africa at all. I am aware of the Jumbo being in the Normandy campaign, but at least it was in the same front historically.
About this real quick…
Unfortunately I don’t think there are many more Italian tanks that could keep up with the allied tanks further along the campaign. Like there isn’t much that can deal with the Sherman, Matilda, or Churchill other than the Semovente casemates which aren’t good at dealing with infantry.
Ha, I know the M15/42, 75/34M42, M16/43 these tanks were not in service in North Africa. So my suggestion is upgrade the M14/41 model of the gun. As for why not recommend 47/32L40 and 75/18M41. They are not very good to use.
As this I think the Tunisian campaign has too many problems. As you said, the phase-1 fighter squard should replace FW190 with MC202ec or RE2001. Phase-2 fighter squard should be replaced by MC205. The Semovente and Grant are introduced too early into the campaign. Vehicles like 47/32L40, 75/18M41, A15MKII, ValentineMKI should be added in front of them, and replace it with a phase-1 tank squard. The phase-2 tank squard was replaced by Germans, they will have PzIIIJ and PzIVG. The British phase-2 tank squard will have A15MKIII, and ShermanMKII. I think it would be better.
For last update, Semovente get frontal armour and gun penetration buffs. So, now it’s a better choice as anti-tank weapon. But Grant still dominates battlefield. Because of not so many axis players using Semovente.
As for premium or brand new tanks for tank crew tier 2 will be interesting to see Valentine Mk. IX and StuG III C-D-E.
The matilda has more armour yes but it’s alao much slower than the grant and has much less firepower meaning it would easily ignore enemy anti tank weapons but but a magnet for explosive packs and wouldn’t really be able to hurt the later tanks much in return
