Two Different Artillery Strikes

I have found that the artillery strikes by Radio Operators from the 315th Field Signal Battalion differs from the strike called in from a Radio Operator in other infantry squads. The Signals RO strikes tend to have little impact while the other RO strikes seem to result in more kills. And let’s talk about how poor the smoke rounds are.

Is running a Radio Operator squad any better than a just have a RO in another infantry squad?

More artillery calls and smoke which is great for crossing open terrain.

But even with more frequent strikes, still less kills is seems.

Never notice that this is the case, Just need to call the right target and things go boom. Yesterday had 20kills with RO in RO squad simply because I spotted their rally in the open.

Keep in mind: the main goal/use of arty strikes in Enlisted is NOT to gain “kills” like in cod or battlefield, but instead to deny a certain area (or clean one up) for your team to capture a point (or prevent the enemy from advancing)

To this effect, smoke artillery is much, MUCH more useful than regular “boom” artillery for the success of your team. You may sacrifice some meaningless kills, sure, but victory boost your xp gain a great deal more.

Always think of the big picture: team effort to capture objectives. Those who do are ALWAYS more successful than those only looking to “collect personal kills”.

Best is, one is connected with another, if you play objective, you will get more kills than when you try to only kill enemy and not playing objective. I hope players will learn that in future.

Good points Joe! Very true as well however I have watched from a far my RO (Signals) strike do no damage to enemy troops while other RO strikes would have destroyed them. I guess my issue is more of the issue with damage that Signals strikes give.

Ah, maybe the enemy hides inside buildings. Most of the time those protect them quite well. In those case smoke is almost 100% the best choice.

If the cap zone is outdoors however… Feel free to rain death! Will be easier for the cleanup crew arriving soon after :stuck_out_tongue:

Seems like it’d be hard to test, since you are often only guessing where the enemy may be massed at. To me, the smaller squad size is worth dealing with to get more artillery strikes so I will often run the RO squad in matches. It may be that the enemy isn’t on point like a bunch of goobers and so you hit nothing while a minute later they are. You just don’t know unless you’ve got a concealed position with a vantage point that can view the zone

I’ve taken sniper rifle and setup a call-in point on top of a tower or church steeple. The views were very good and I could easily see the enemy still standing. Doing this as different squad RO results in different strikes. For the Signals RO, only when the strikes were direct was there resulting casualties.

For the record, I’ve only done this to study the arty barrages and I don’t typically camp.

I do that in Normandy Axis. I have a sniper that I often run as my squad leader for that very reason. Plus an engineer for extra ammo because I’m shit at sniping and need the extra rounds lol.

Though I wouldn’t really consider it camping since that’s kind of the point of the RO squad - supporting fire. If you’re at the forefront with them, you’re just playing a small rifle squad and not utilizing their main weapon

For me,I always use HE on the point and use smoke when my team friends is attacking the point
