Tutorial

So, I’m assuming we all have had those games where people don’t mark things…like ever. I have had plenty of these matches and even mentioned it to people and they either started marking things or replied with “i don’t know what I’m doing”, its sad that people are able to skip the tutorial and hamper peoples games because of there inability to spend 5 mins on a basic tutorial.

My proposition to is this, FORCE EVERYONE TO PLAY THE TUTORIAL!. you lock them into it so they cannot play the game until it is complete, no way to skip it just a simple “quit game” option if they try to leave without finishing it.

I’m so sick to death of people having less intelligence than bots and making it harder for a players team to provide either tank/air support properly because there is no targets for them to shoot or watch out for. You can do both of those things but you are far less effective then when being “supported”, its the 2nd most important mechanic in game.

TLDR, FORCE PEOPLE TO PLAY THE TUTORIAL

Does the tutorial tell how to mark things and how does it affect bot behaviour? I don’t remember.

im pretty sure it does, i did it once and have been marking stuff since so ill assume it does. it doesn’t effect bots, i was insulting people who don’t know the basic systems of the game as taught by the tutorial or at the least never checked there controls (because god knows PGUP/PGDWN as aileron’s or rudders? by default in warthunder for planes was idiotic) .

Please repeat the tutorial, I did the first part yesterday and not even the briefing menu was brought up, I would be heavily surprised if I knew about this mechanism based on current tutorial.

well i did do the tutorial again, yeap its movement and shoot. so i was wrong and they don’t teach you to mark in the tutorial, but assuming people ever bother to check there controls they would know this.

This does raise another issue about the tutorial being too basic, i stand by this thread title even more so once better more extensive tutorials have been included and people forced to do.

I don’t know what a “briefing menu” is or what you mean by it.

If you press F1 (I guess) the controls are listed, including ‘V’ to mark.
In the old tutorial it was the first screen displayed, now it is not displayed automatically.

I think they need to add an advanced tutorial eventually, with Enter to chat, task to build rally point, ‘X’ to make your AI defend location, ‘V’ to mark enemy for them so they turn in that direction etc.

Well shit, now I’m not sure anymore.
Maybe that’s what i was thinking of when i mentioned it, i didn’t know they changed it.
Come to think of it wasn’t “weapon mounting” also mentioned in the old one?

I agree, a series of tutorials would be good too.

Something like this maybe:

Camera and Movement, Basic Shooting, Advanced shooting (marking and firing modes and aim adjustment), Tank (should cover in map vehicles and motorbikes as well), Planes and then each soldier class explaining there mechanics and how they play.
