Isn’t better to just build HMG?

well, no.

because HMG are not mobile, as generally are slow to set up too, and requires an engineer to be alive at that location.

while the bike is faster, reloads faster, has no overheat, and can relocate if needed.

plus, you do get an additional ( if you decide ) AT tank trooper to ambush tanks.

Cool idea makes the premium ones worth running again… just need it to drive straight.

This might work if you were in the Tunisian bot farm in the past, but for the vast majority of players, they will die immediately to the opponent’s counterattack after being seen.
What’s worse than an engineering team or a machine gun team is that you only have 2 or 3 chances to die, and difficult to enter buildings or complex terrain for cover and visibility.

as they say, high risk, high rewards.

bikes are not for everyone.

which it’s fine. they don’t have to be.

at the same time, they could add more vehicles for different purpouse and having more squads members ( ex, kubelwagen or jeep with mg with 4/5 members etc ) to make somewhat rider more relevant again and more accessible for many people that dislike small squads.

if we have to play the " what-about-itsm " one could argue that it takes you alot of time to build one, get seen, and get shoot repetitely as well or worse, the machinegun gets destroyed after first bullets.
and… it can’t relocate.

well, it’s not as bad as you folks make it out to be.

first and foremost, you do need an upgraded bike.
so it will be less challenging to drive. ( if… you find it hard to begin with )

then the rest, is about position, tactics and various tricks one might have on her/his own sleeves.

i can agree it does take time to fully research the squad as the squad progression it is slow.
but it’s not entirely correlated to the bike it self.
