I like the Tunisia campaign so out of boredom I thought of what the devs will most likely do to the last levels.
35: Flamer II - Flamenwefer 41/M2 Flamethrower
36: Riflemen III - With lazy devs it will be K98 and M1 Garand AT. Hopefully it will be Italian and British or at least British.
37: MG42/M1919A6
38: ?
39: AT Gunner II - Bazooka/Panzerfaust 30
40: Tiger E/Churchill Mk IV with 75mm
I’m not sure for level 38 so if anyone has any ideas I’m all ears.
I personally put tiger at dead last because it would be extremely powerful but with the axis getting bullied on the tank end from the very beginning a tiger is honestly deserving. PZ IV G won’t be added because confirmed it will be a premium.
I suspect the tiger is probably going to be near the end of the line, and probably the M 10, and if they do get a Churchill it will almost certainly have the six pounder because it’s a better antitank weapon than the 75 mm, The British 75 mm fired the same ammunition as the US Shermans 75 mm fired with comparable armor piercing performance, so you’re far better off with a six pounder if you’re trying to kill tanks
As for aircraft I suspect there might be some sort of bomber, like a JU 88 or a Z 1007, maybe a B 25
Attacker Pilot
For the Brits, a Bristol Blenheim with 4x 250lb Bombs and plenty of gunners.
For the Axis, an Hs 129B-3 with 2 7.92mm MG 17s, a 30mm MK 103, and 4x 50kg Bombs.
OR a Dornier Do 17 with 4x 250kg bombs and 3 gunners each with 2x 7.92mm MG 17s.
“Atleast 40 levels” isn’t stating the campaigns will end at level 40.
Keep that in mind once you realise most vehicles squads only have 1 vehicle
No eng level 3 for example and many squads that still are level 1 or 2.
No bikes in the campaigns besides tunisia
Apcs
Mobile AA guns
Etc etc.
The words were “we have planed content for ATLEAST 40 levels” and that was like 1.5 years ago.
Expect either more levels.
Or. More levels.
Or more. Levels…
And game isn’t even on release state yet. Technically… Beta.
IRL they had to get to within 100m to pen a Tiger from the front, although the side shots were a lot easier - and even then a lot of stuff ricocheted - those estimates are not accurate. Have a read of “The Armoured Campaign in Normandy” by Stephen Napier, or John Buckley’s “British Armour in the Normandy Campaign 1944”
Ironically the German estimates for their guns were significantly more conservative than RL, so it just goes to show that there is always a bit of leeway between scientific plate penetration tests and firing on actual tanks.
Afaik the top vehicles up until 1943 would be Churchill, Tiger I (H), M4 and M4A1, M10, Panzer 4 F2, Panzer 3 L (which would be very underrated due to having 70+mm of armor all over the front) and maybe something like a Bishop SPG as premium/event.
So far the only things that would stand up to a Tiger would be the M10 since the capped AP of the M4 had only about 104mm of penetration at point blank range (and no HVAP was ready at the time) as well as the Crusader III and the Churchill III, and tbh they’d need APC or even APCBC to counter a grey zone camping Tiger at range. The Bishop would also be capable of inflicting damage in some areas.
But in the end, the most powerful weapon is a motorcycle squad either rushing with TNT or placing a 6 pdr gun on the side.
Air is the great equalizer, it is stupid easy to kill any tank with an airplane right now in Tunisia, the SBD can level the playing field, you know everybody and their grandma‘s gonna grab one and try and suicide themselves into any sort of tiger that happens to appear, I would imagine the average life expectancy of a tiger on the map in Tunisia would be less than three or four minutes
