Tunisia Cave Village Map rework

The Cave village map is one of the most dreaded maps among players that I have talked to.

  • Objectives within the holes also extend to the upper lip, and excessively far into the tunnels in such a way that a team occasionally doesn’t even have to approach the hole, just camp the tunnel on their spawn side.
  • AI pathfinding is atrocious, often leading to bots jumping off the side of the holes to their deaths down below.
    -The actual routes into the hole are so few and far between that most attempts to get down into them leads to broken legs. (Getting knocked from fall damage.)
  • The actual side rooms within the objective are almost never utilized, as most players just opt to hang around the top edge or in the tunnels, greatly reducing opportunities for interesting combat.
  • Sandbags aren’t allowed to be stacked in tunnels, leading to defenders having to fight a disadvantaged battle every single time.
  • The ONLY location on this map that is fun to both attack and defend is the building next to the orchard.

I suggest reworking the holes and the objective zones in them to actually encourage players to engage in combat in the hole rather than everywhere else around it. Adding more stairways, Making the vent shafts sticking up out of the ground susceptible to TNT and then grenades. Reducing the area down the tunnels that count as “on the objective”.
Also adding objective points to other locations besides the holes is viable too. Like control of the Archway or even the road for example.

Was this recently? That would explain why enemies were able to capture so rapidly despite only having one or two soldiers we could see.

Yes this map sucks major ass, it’s hands down the worst map to use a vehicle on, and the conquest matches just go on and on and on it’s completely tedious.

huh, i usually sneak into one of those side rooms and just build up fortification there, praying that my team will rescue me soon.

i personally only feel the need of a better bot pathfinding. but that’s mostly because the bots are now very stupid and get stuck on the weirdest of obstacles. or a wall.

I agree the map needs to be fixed, especially with AI pathfinding

Played the map lately and with the super AI pathfinding, i was surprised that my bots jumped into the hole and died. Was funny to see, not so funny to play.

Uncle Owen and Luke want their moisture farm back. Half-Life counterstrike also might sue for artistic infringement. Might be better to fill in those giant potholes. :face_with_peeking_eye:

The cave map of the confrontation mode is quite horrible. Yesterday, the map was played for an hour, and the middle occupation point and the fourth occupation point were repeatedly contested.
I really don’t want to play this map anymore

Yeah. That was how it is for us too. Usually 70-90 min games with like 300 kills and a lot of people quitting out due to the length of the game.

Also it doesn’t help that the objectives are so far apart that the attackers can’t really get there fast enough to even contest the captures.
