I know this has been discussed in general before, but I don’t think the issue has been properly mapped, so:
Tracer colors in the game now (as far as I can see):
American tanks, MGs and planes: Red tracers
All AA guns and German tanks: Green tracers
Everything else (including small arms): Yellow tracers
Can we change this to:
American tanks, MGs, planes and AA guns: Red tracers
German tanks, MGs, planes and AA guns: Green tracers
Japanese tanks, MGs, planes and AA guns: Blue tracers
All other tanks, MGs, planes and AA guns: Yellow tracers
All small arms: no tracers
Please? Shouldn’t be so hard to do.

I know it’s a simplification but it would be much more historically accurate than what we have now, would look way cooler, and would also serve the vital purpose of helping players (ESPECIALLY air support) distinguish between friendly and hostile heavy targets. Currently this distinction does not exist in all places it should - e.g. Russian and German MG nests fire the same color tracers, so they can’t be distinguished from the air. And there’s no way to tell if an AA gun is friend or foe until it hits you. Why bother updating with nation-specific AA gun models and then leaving all the tracers green?
