Topic about wanting to nerf or adapt automatic fire to make snipers more appealing

In the doc file that @Keofox added, he talked about how players complained that snipers had problems because of the other weapons including smg, were getting the same range as said long range weapons. That they were thinking on adapting all automatic fire. that basically means a nerf. But in reality, all engagements in enlisted take place from 0 to 100 meters. Plus, we have two basic game modes. Either defending an objective or attacking. Players have been choosing automatic fire more because of this reason. you always need to cap. When you are attaking you are going to be in close quarters since you gotta go to the objective, therefore you are going to be around 10+ foes and you need weapons to deal with that menace. When you are defending you need to cap so you dont loose the objective. Obviously you are going to do worse with a sniper on your hands and the same applies for bolt actions or certain weapons that due to the design of the game, they get forgotten and overshadowed by later unlocks. Something similar happened with semi autos when they realised that they were making bolt actions look bad. Then there is the fact that the sniper squad is a 5 man squad, meaning that when all you soldiers die you still make your team loose 12 tickets, cause thats how the game works. Instead of working on nerfing everyones progress in this game why not give these squads more capabilities. Maybe the oportunity to have certain cqb guns like there is in bfv or maybe allow more capabilities to the squad itself, like they were saying also, more ammo more specific perks or roles added to the snipers in the beggining. Lastly, this is the squad i hate seeing the most when im dead at 0 tickets and i get to see other players. And you realise that the dude that picked it up has 3 soldiers. 1 sniper, 1 engineer, 1 trooper. Probably just like i did when i started playing that i also used snipers, and thought the other squads members werent needed because they were giving out my position and getting in front of me. Its sort of infuriating they made the game work in a way where certain squads dont fit in to the gameplay and then they just think of nerfing other things that are working as intended.

Im not doing well in the fact that you grind like a hog and then 6 months later after a costy grind they decided everything needs a nerf. I wanna see what everyone else think about this. Also i would stick where they say this but, it got deleted from the reddit and i cant access it anymore

All interesting ideas, but the best solution for everyone is just make map and objecive bigger. Simple as that.

Theres teh niche use for snipers, such as shooting built MG’s AA / AT gun users other than that theres not much use for them and even these tasks can be done with other squads.

They simply lack the firepower to effectively do anything.

As a full sniper player, the only 2 problems i feel are just punctual problems:
I feel that only 25 rounds are not enough (with th engeneers that’s solved).
I also feel that in some maps, the snipers are just a bit forgotten: when you’re facing a town map like in normandy or when you are in some big buildings like in Berlin or Moscow. I feel that the maps could be bigger, but i don’t really care about it too mucho bc those are just punctual problems

Imo since the game has defend/attack missions making snipers useful is very difficult or even impossible. Yes you can kill people from distance but in the end you ll need either to cap of decap a point to win a match. Have finished various sniper squads in various campaigns, they were okish to play. Nothing special nor totally useless.
A potential buff would be to make snipers having a SMG on top of their sniper-rifles. Cause now in most cases you need a pistol for closer fights with them. On the other hand this might make them a bit too strong. So no 100% if it is possible to make them more useful
