I’ve noticed that more than half of my deaths come from snipers. While I do understand that snipers aren’t supposed to rush objectives (being an avid sniper player myself), I think it’s a little bit too much.
Either a bit of tuning must be done on the shooting mechanics (which are extremely easy currently) like adding bullet drop, or some sort of limit to snipers/sniper squads at any given time (much like the tanks).
Also, spawn-bombing is being a constant annoyance. Planes just keep wrecking people coming out of spawn. I’m not sure if that’ll get better once people start to learn to build flak cannons, but just to point out that it’s currently a bit too much.
Everyone starts off with a sniper squad, and a skilled player can easily rack up the kills with it. So there’s that. As for the planes, if engineers were doing their jobs properly (they’re not even building ammo crates), they would be less of an annoyance I’m sure.
I’ve said that about the engineers. I think people will learn to build flaks in time. But snipers definitely need a limit of players at any given time in a similar way that tanks are rn. More than 50% of deaths coming from snipers is a bit too much when you think that only a small percentage of the available playable soldiers are snipers. Also, extra ballistic mechanics wouldn’t hurt. There is no bullet drop as far as I can tell…
1st: i can’t say that sharpshooters are a problem in my game-play, they are normally easy to deal with and since most of the maps are relatively small they can’t be too far
2nd: i’v been killed once in my entire playtime by a plane, as someone who has also played planes i got to say that managing to get 3 kills per fly its a hard thing to get, most times, they can’t even see what they are shooting at.
At the end, i think this is you perception of the matter, i get killed more by smg’s and rifles but i don’t go to the forums trying to get them nerfed.
Most of the people I kill on my snipers sit in the same obvious spots such as bunkers, mg nests, leaning out of a window so their weapon sticks out making them very obvious, etc… Id say roughly 10-20% of my deaths are from snipers. Which isn’t much considering everyone starts with them and they’re probably the most or second most important class on Normandy.
Snipers can sometimes be annoying, but they are nowhere near decisive force in battle so there is no point in nerfing them. If skilled sniper is able to score so much, he deserves his kills.
The only place where they are actually important is in lone fighters and D day landing invasion.
I like to play as engineer squad but when map starts and i build AA (And i must build it faaar away from my team b coz ppl use it to shot infantry) i shot down one plane…then i go back to battlefield and build spawnpoint and some barbed wire sand bags etc then i go back to AA and w8…then shot down next plane and match ends.I support my team, kill 2 planes mb 2-3 people and how u guys think where am i on the scoreboard and how mutch exp i get? I dont care anymore now i go kill make exp like all players and if someone complayn about this “engineers make AA” sure bro u will have 80 kills and 5k exp and stupid me boring 30min sit on AA. Why u cant start as engineer and build AA like me? B coz im stupid and u want exp and progress fast. Now i start as other squads make fun and progress and btw i have 30h in battle in OBT and got killed by plane 2 times so why we need someone on AA? Make ammo crate make AA make this make that …bro u can be engineer and do it…but its not profitable so u dont.Only idiots like me do it and finish game with 2 plane kills when they will change exp on engineers u all will have AA ammo crates etc ppl cant even see my ammo crates now so for what?
I don’t see a problem with sniping, it can be countered. The bombing however is too hard to counter. I’d suggest having it so that when an engineer makes an AA gun it is automatically manned by one of his AI squad members. Give AA a higher bonus against planes and make the AI capable at using it.
You got killed multiple times in a war game? Do you get mad when you kill other people? You start with a sniper kit, if you can’t beat em then join em. I usually get 50-100 kills every game anyways lmao.
I don’t get 50-100 kills - not without planes or tanks or mortars - but I can hit you across a map with iron sights in this game - is that “sniping”? What is it that the OP thinks it should be - all SMG’s and hand grenades at 10 paces??
