Too many spawnkillers, bring back a functioning greyzone

now before everyone starts yelling at me,

Yes, I mainly play as a tanker,
yes I sit in the greyzone quite often.

however, I think that the greyzone is in no way the problem, instead the problem has always been map design.

ever since the greyzone is gone on many maps, people started going for revenge kills instead of playing the actual objective - and the worst part, often they straight up spawn camp vehicle spawns now.

This gameplay is not only unfair, you should never be able to hurt someone in his spawn ( you should also never be able to shoot into the objective from within your greyzone, again map design needs improvement)
but but but… it also is destructive for the game itself, seriously, every time someone gets 100 meters+ behind the frontline just to take out my tank, I simply respawn after few seconds and kill the spawnkiller myself.

While I only lost 20 seconds, the enemy lost minutes to get all the way across the map only to get one vehicle kill - time which he should have invested in actually playing the game.

So regardless of all the crying here on the Forums about grey zone campers, some sort of spawn protection is absolutely needed in order to create a structural battlefield and a working frontline, something that the game has been amazing at so far.

And one last thing, Tanks are supposed to stay behind. They are supposed to give support fire from behind the frontline, a concept that Enlisted has managed to implement amazingly into the game, yet it seems this concept is getting removed slowly.

I say despite people disliking it, explosive charges need to be powerful again in order to punish over extending tankers, map design needs to be adjusted in order to punish players that dont play the objective
greyzones need to be adjusted so that they give total protection from enemy fire, while also not allowing to directly fire into the objective.

Whatever you write further, it is not legit after this, kekw.

which is very sad, then you won’t see the problem.

your remarks does not really help you.

and YOU are missing the problem.

either way, i find the issue being in the spawn protection not being a thing anymore. ( or do not work like they used to )

i find really annoying spawning and diying after 3 seconds because some bots or players are left behind and no way for me to see them and wipes my squad after spawn.

THAT’S the real issue.

so having no spawn protection is what you want?

seriously, if you fools would get past the first 3 sentences you would understand that I dont want the game to allow greyzone camping, my god.

so what point am I missing? Spawnkills are good?

Dont know why you disagree with me here, we even are on the same page when it comes to what you have described - which is what i am talking about- we need a functioning greyzone

the protection system has nothing to do with the gray zone.
i’d argue the expansion ( on the few that actually got some ) on some maps was good.

but the spawn protection it’s not tied with the gray area.
they work separately.

as you do not want to have a grayzone after 10 meters from the objective like some moscow map used to have in cat / cbt.

hence, people should be able to walk some ground and potentially reach somewhere closer to their spawns.
they just shouldn’t be able to gun them down as soon they spawn. but to retaliate.

seriously, pls start again and read my post, I literally say that your spawning area should be free from potential enemies, while the greyzone should be far away enough so that you can’t play the objective while being in a protected zone…

I’m in no way talking about the short period of time after spawning where a player is invulnerable - which by the way doesn’t work for tanks to begin with.

Not even relevant, build rally points.

rally points for tanks? what if there is no rally because they got destroyed? not allowed to leave the spawn and build new ones?

you guys are literally promoting spawn killings, what are you smoking ffs?

If the opposing team is so bad that they let you do it, what’s the problem honestly? :tipping_hand_man:

the problem is that if one squad gets behind the frontlines and camps there even one death is cheap and basically trolling at that point. Spawnkilling has no place in any shooter what so ever, and most shooters have some sort of system against this in place.

Stop downplaying it.

also if it is “not relevant” then maybe stop talking all together since you dont seem to care anyways, stop trolling.

We all have our dirty secrets whether its grey zone camping, kamikaze planes and even desertion. Its clearly obvious that its the failure of the team to allow themselves to get spawnkilled depending on the map where there are cases like D-Day where its more of a map design flaw than the team itself even if it can be both at fault.

I don’t think expanding the grey zone is going to fix the team problem there but instead much worse as not allowing flanking.

im not even talking about expending the zones themselves, but recently maps got adjusted in a way to allow both teams to go too deep behind enemy lines ( probably to make airborn units worth it )

but this mean that you can literally spawnkill on many maps now.

and about me “grey zone camping” I just state the obvious, on many maps you need to stay in the greyzone because the maps themselves are build that way that the best shooting positions are inside your greyzone, again… thats not the greyzones fault, but the overall map design having flaws.

What a weird form of victim blaming. It shouldn’t be possible ever for a team to be spawn killed regardless of how bad they are at the game.

This problem is the fault of map designers, not the players using the tools they’ve been given. There are many solutions to the problem, so it’s not something people need to just accept and live with.

Victim blaming? lol This isn’t a crime, it’s a video game, a competitive one that has PvP.

Yes, if they’re trapped in spawn, then it is the teams fault. The players, or more likely AI, could not come up with a decent enough strategy to counter them, or the dumb matchmaker put new players/AI against people with end tier equipment or are grouping.

Is this a way for you to say bad players should take no responsibility for playing badly? No, it’s not the map designers fault. There are some maps that could use some tweaking, but that isn’t regarding expanding the gray zone. For the most part, it’s either the player or the matchmaking.
