Use a simple animation to deploy bipod when you press B to brace weapon. The bipod will then use a similar simple animation to fold back when you unbrace your weapon so the bipod will only get deployed when you press B to brace weapon.
I would love this!
Especially because how silly weapons look with the bipods deployed while you go around running and gunning.
it would need to be very quick animation that wouldn’t interfere in bracing speed, because the game still makes you snap out of bracing position for no reason, seeing animation that would impact bracing speed over and over would make the experience worse.
As long as bipods are super clunky, i just want the bonus from bipod to be applied automatically at all times while prone

reason being, older models ( such as mg 42s, fg42s and some others ) have " built in " bipods.
like, those are not separated components. but kinda " welded " in the model.
small tangent, but i learned this as i wanted to hide and make custom weapons with folded / unfolded bipods.
and upon hiding the bipod nodes, certain weapons bipods can only be hided by hiding the entire weapon mesh.
Well, they should update those old models anyway.
one can only wish ( i’d argue would be a bout time too. but… eh, go figure their priorities )
Well some gun get their model updated already different time so isn’t truly an inexistent possibility that one day a simple bipod animation is added
maybe a RS2 Vietnam style of bipod deployment?
they recently fixed FG 42 scope that’s been like that for years, there’s no such thing as impossibility in game development unless if its developer laziness
Just refer to some COD mounting design, which is absolutely smmoth and comfortable
