Which is better from a purely performance (gameplay) perspective and not from class restrictions?

mp43
-more ammo
-less recoil
-more ammo in the magazine
-less damage
even if you have the assaulter squad you can equip the fg42 anyway, so there isnt really a trade off for the fg42

What is maximum “effective” range for the mp43? Is it just a better smg or is it an assault rifle?

i can do burst of 7 shoot (vertical recoil reduction) from 50+ meter, and with the small dropoff of the damage on distance is pretty good

The definition says it can use a 4x scope, is this correct?

the mp43 no, the mkb 42 in moscow have it.

Equipping FG42 on all of your troops is scummy and quiet sad. If equip just one squad with them and call them paratroopers then it’s not that bad, but equipping ALL of your men with it is just crap.

When I unlock them I’m just going to have my engineer squad and maybe my AT squad as paratroopers. I think just equipping everyone with FG42 is just boring. I still have most of my troops with Kar98ks (I unlocked the G43 a long time ago)

Nice, I’m the same way. I only gave my assaulter squad the G43 because they’re my “panzer grenadiers”, the rest have K98s.

depends on how many assault rifles you want to use, 1,2,9 the choice is yours
(if you use fg42II you will never be the same)

Something inside me feels off when someone uses MP43s and FG42s in the same squad.

you cant equip assaulters with fg42
you cant equip troopers with mp43.

at the end of the road, you gonna have both.

MP43 over standard FG42, but worse than the FG42 II (not that that’s in Normandy though). Max MP43 might be better than FG42 II though

If you would like to be fully correct - mortar squad is real FJ squad. So you could just ignore the mortars and play them as paratroopers.

In Berlin first MG and flamethrower squads are FJ too.
