I don’t count something that’s been 2 years back since that’s not relevant not any related to current release of APCs.

Very funny, I´ve played the game long enough to have a vague idea what I would find useful or not.
I claimed that apcs will be useless and I don’t change my mind.
They are indeed useless. What is useful is build in rally.
i’m just saying, you can’t judge negatively something that you haven’t tried.
as it goes for their effectiveness, i’d say they are a solid 8.5 squad.

( or just drive in bushes and let the ai on the back do all the work ) -
( can’t 100% confirm it perhaps becasue of premium ) but are much easier to grind compared to riders

( even better on armored halftracks. ais are so damn precise ) -
great for experience points ( in combination with another rally, a medic and you could use to repair other vehicles too. but that goes for any class with a tool box that is )

free to play apcs can die from one grenade underneath the engine ( mosly axis ones )

if the driver gets shot, switching is often slow. and if you haven’t fully upgraded the vehicle, the driver ( rather, replacement ) it self due to not being an actual driver will suffer from speed loss and gear shift ( or break, or any other perks that drivers and takers have )

premium apc has some really insane overheat for the gun. ( which works great for covering infantry and not allow them to get close to the halftrack )

premium apcs are better and at the same time, worse in other aspects.
which might not be ideal and works 100% of the time against all type of players, but i’d say can be used on any maps and have their utility.
at the end of the day, you can just park it, and go on foot if needed. the halftracks are just a tool. and a powerful one.
but i dare to say, a competitive and effective squad.
Oly faced a couple of trucks in Tunisia, which I always considered as one of the few maps/ campaigns where they might work. That being said they mostly blew up after two minute or three.
Also a M3 Driver in Moscow Sawmill but that thing always blew up in seconds. That engine is M13 2.0
No engineer for squad, how’s a APC/truck, going to make AA/AT cannon/sand/ bags etc, engineers are not dead yet till full mech infantry arrives
I am using it now and it doesn’t make any sense, I am on pair with others rally points, literally no one is using my APC and I drive them as close I can,
spawning on them is weird, 15s cooldown, once spawned you have to leave vechicle, rally points are just better, can be placed better.
imo APC should work like default spawn, no queue, everybody could spawn same time, but it wouldn’t let you spawn closer than 100m away from the obj.
but I dunno, maybe people build a lot of rally points now due to event, and it will come in handy later.
As someone who already maxed out all 4 APCs from the tech tree I am going to say few words what I think about them.
They are simply bad and not very useful, if at all. I just wanted to upgrade the squad/s and be done with it, basically immediately after doing so I’ve put any APC squad back to the reserve.
Here’s why:
Not many places to hide this thing, maps are simply not designed for use of an APC, especially Pacific maps with small islands and just a single road leading to them and if you survive the journey to that small island where is the objective, you most likely will not have any solid and large enough cover to hide this big and easy target that can be shot at from multiple directions.
Often times you can hide a rally point close to the objective, but you can’t hide your APC, unless you like it to be eliminated by AT rifle / AT rocket / shot by a tank. That means you leave the APC behind further than rally points and nobody uses your APC, everybody spawns on rally points as they are the closest (this is what I experienced when grinding all 4 APCs).
The offroad performance is so bad, especially on a sloped terrain, that I could walk faster than drive this thing, and if you drive into a ditch you are stuck there most of the time.
Tech tree APCs really lack the “A” it stands for.
exactly my thoughts, APCs are just worse rally points and if they’re ever used it’s because of the people’s curiosity and not their strategic value.
if APC won’t get reworked with their mechanic they’ll end up as D tier squad, it’s sad because we all know devs tend to ignore making every squad valuable in their own way.

They are better. Faster to set up, no noise, need AT weapons to remove, can spawn on them when enemy is nearby. It’s the perfect backdoor tool, there’s good reason people use them a lot already.

( which can be great, and bad depending on few factors. you may occasional encounter someone that will camp to kill everyone. but that hardly works in his favor when 9 soldier squad spawns in the truck and will start to shoot him )
There are times that you can’t spawn on APC because of the message that someone is occupying APC. Once I was waiting for it to clear and it took longer than 15s already, so I decided to spawn on a nearby rally point to see if someone is on the back of my APC and after checking, there was nobody either in or even close by the APC, don’t know why that happens.
My only complaint about the APC squad is they don’t get an engineer or medkit, ammo, or AT boxes on them like in HnG which I always thought was cool as all fuck and should be added

I 100% agree with this.
I love the combat capability that mobile spawn points have brought to the attacking game. I’ve had a couple of games where our German team spawned 2 HTs and a tank moving in the middle. By pure chance I and the other player took the Sdkfz 251s to opposite flanks. The game didn’t last long, the rest of the team took advantage of the rolling spawn points to apply very strong flanking pressure that unhinged the defenders. The rest of the team along with the tank bludgeoned their way in the old fashion through the middle of the map.
As a team member of a player with the APC, you spawn the team into them that covers for this intentional limitation and build them around the area of the objective which the APC is supporting to overtake.
