Tips on using tanks to their full potential

As someone who is already close to reaching 200 hours, while using tanks 80% of time. I guess I could give some tips.

for infantry:

  1. PLEASE guard our sides, the tunnel vision we have is insane (especially on early rank ones)
  2. If there’s smoke thrown in front of tank, it would be neat if you could throw it away.
  3. If artillery barrage is coming, and there’s no time to escape, try crawling under a tank, it should reduce the damage.
  4. Feel free to use passing tanks as a
taxi, just make sure to climb on engine, since sitting on front will block the optics or jam the cannon.
  5. If there’s heavy fire coming from front, you can climb on tank and use turret as a shield

For tank commanders:

  1. Angle your armour dumb fucks
  2. Shooting with mg in bursts will prevent overheating
  3. Don’t waste HE on a single infantry personnel, aim for concentrated squads
  4. If you’re repairing your tank, go behind it and prone you’ll be safe from infantry fire.
  5. Don’t move if you’re under artillery barrage, there might be infantry hiding under your tank + barrage can’t really damage you badly.
  6. If there’s bullet rain coming from sky (plane is aiming for you) just go full throttle to any direction, and if possible, go under a tree. This will increase your chance of surviving at least a bit.
  7. Don’t stay in open field, you’ll become a candy for AT, planes, explosion packs & other tanks.
  8. Always keep moving, don’t stay in one place. If you’re guarding a place, keep moving forward and back.

infantry is the main role in enlisted, skillful players have many ways to destroy a tank .if your teammates suffer a massive skill issue, tanks will become the EXP PACK for enemy team.

and that is why most tankers camp in gray zone…

My favorite tank is the T-34-85 so I get to use tanks more in Berlin than other campaigns like Moscow even urban environments when I need to. My tip is to practice firing against tanks like Tiger and Panther at the range where find the weak spots to shoot at.

On the battles themselves, I don’t think you don’t need to save HE so much depending on the situation where its better to land as many good hits as possible. Sometimes I hop in a tank when the enemy is spamming tanks or I just want to blow up a certain cap point like the 4th cap of Hermann Goering Strasse by spamming HE on the room from a distance. Certain situations don’t need to be very close to the fighting depending on the location.

Don’t charge in without infantry support as its suicide most of the time especially if enemy infantry have explosive packs and AT weapons. This applies to both in military games and in real life itself especially the latter with more possible threats on unexpected places.

Another important thing is to know your tank alongside the enemy’s like don’t use T-60s against Panzer IVs or Pumas against Jumbos or else you are just wasting the tank slot where a teammate with a better tank would’ve taken it and fight against strong enemy tanks.

Some of the notable weaknesses of certain tanks like T-34-85’s armor where you don’t rely on it’s protection too much or Tiger being a bitch to turn with its weight and that’s a danger especially when being targeted by CAS or the Panther’s reverse speed of death with 4km/h just like T-72 drivers in War Thunder. Lower caliber guns have shit HE in general where 75/76mm and above starts to get better with the damage while 85 and 88mms are the best HE shells in the game.

Could have sent some more tips but not as essential as the other tips as some of them are just situational like do not open the commander’s hatch when in combat or in a dangerous area like near the fighting area where the shooting is. In my case, I just open the hatch when I’m trying to navigate through difficult terrain like areas full of clutter sure some tanks have an MG on the hatch but its situational to use due to snipers can just take the commander out.

It really depends and I am not agreeing with this one if you have a MG on it. When you see enemy soldiers trying to flank you, stick your head out, shoot a full burst and go back into it. Timeframe: max. 2 seconds before bots are trying to laser you.

Commander MG is the only reason why Pz IV J is not utter garbage.
Once I had more kills with it than with the main gun and coax combined.

It is absolutely good. Even if you are, lets say, far away and you see enemy troops running, stick your head out and get additional firepower to mow them down. Sadly I cant say how many people I killed with the commanders MG but a lot I guess. Got shot 3 times out of it so far.
So I guess overall it is a good deal.

Near to 2000 Hours and 80% Infanterie:

Sweet.

The rooftop mg on American tanks is great for taking out Pumas quickly, especially on tanks with slow turret traverse or long reloads.

Shhhh. Don’t tell them that. I have too much fun sniping tank commmanders who like to feel the wind in their hair

The puma can somewhat take on jumbo as the only tank not able to frontal tackle the allied brick wall is panzer 3N but careful planning can allow even that to kill the jumbo
