Time To Try Hardcore/Realistic Mode?

Hello everyone,

Has anyone tried hardcore mode? What are your thoughts?
Do we think Enlisted is ready to implement or trial official hardcore mode now? Or a mode with realistic damage models?

i have played a couple of hardcore games, kinda refreshing but I felt very lost every single game.

they should bring minimap back because people got used to main game and can’t handle this transition well.

we ain’t having official hardcore/realistic anytime soon though many players asked for it.

This game was hard in CBT. Most players wouldn’t be able to handle CBT.
Here are the reasons why they would cry:

-No weapon normalization

-Friendly fire from any explosive devices (grenades, mortars, bombs, artillery)

-rifle bullets pierced wooden walls, armor-piercing bullets pierced brick walls.

-20mm+ tank guns and anti-tank rifles even penetrated several wooden walls.

-almost everyone crawled in the open (running meant death)

-there was no artillery fire queue (i.e. there were even 20 artillery fires at once, but the time to the next fire was longer)

-vehicles killed enemy and friendly infantry by driving over it

-Aircraft engines broke down in flight

  • the engine of the tank could break down

-Bots had better performance

  • AI controlled teams were deadly effective

And yet everyone had a good time.

I think it’s necessary to have access to more serious modes nowadays.

I never ever play with HUD now, there are just too many advantages and it’s made me a far far better player.

It took some getting used to at first, no kill markers meant I actually had to have a positive ID for taking a shot, and there was no way to tell if I’d actually killed them, which means I tend to put a lot of lead down range. But conversely, it forces me to actually be in a position to take a shot and get a kill, and not take wild chances at >100 yards which means more often than not - i get the kill. Similarly, instead of focusing on the map all the time, I actually am aware of my surroundings and use that to my advantage.

It’s also incredibly immersive, and brings out a lot of realism in the game, instead of this jumbled arcade like overlay.

At first, the hardest thing was knowing where to go to attack an objective. I used to open the map, stick a pin on the AO and then head towards the pin, but now I don’t even do that, I just take a quick glance at the map and then move towards it naturally. Without the minimap distracting me, I see everything, and have a quicker reaction to spotting tangos when they themselves are focused on their minimaps.
