You should be able to pen anywhere even from 500m. Panther has ~170mm of pen, while the Jumbo has ~150mm of flat armor on the turret and ~100 mm in the hull. Even with the slope of the hull, the panther should punch through the armor regardless.
The angles get in the way. Gun mask 177mm + angles.
Hull 100mm + significant angles. Show me on the range how you shoot a jumbo at 100 meters and penetrate.
Don’t have access to a computer right now, but you have access to war thunder, you go play around. Or you can go look at some old threads and see people penning Jumbos from the grey zone of D-day, Ver-Sur-Mer or Airfield.
On maps with the beach the panther often stands higher than the jumbo and shoots at a lower angle, also often the jumbo drivers themselves tilt the tank nose down, completely depriving themselves of armor at an angle
Then explain airfield, where everything is flat.
Even at this close range, I was able to penetrate the hull 2 times out of 12-15 shots to the left side. Tried the center one, tried the right one - didn’t get through.

I showed you the polygon from Enlisted. It DOES NOT WORK. Why waste my time when I showed you screenshots from a game where I shoot a jumbo at 50 meters with no penetration. I showed how it would be in a real game
Nothing is more inaccurate and far from reality than a punch simulator in WT. The real results are always much worse.
Let him fix the tank at the same angle as in this screenshot and get more real data, though still better than it will be in the game.
Again, he turned vertical camera angle off, which should negate normalization in that axis. As for Horizontal angle, any angle should make penning the Jumbo harder not easier, so that is irrelevant.
Here is also a video of a Panther penning Jumbos in places that are not any of the places you showed. the one at 1:39 is a kill from over 100m away.

You can clearly see that the jumbo is standing on a hill with its nose down, This weakens its armor very much.
Similarly at minute 3.
the strangest thing is at 1:10, but the camera above doesn’t show the penetration at all time after time. Bugs?
Anyway my test shows it doesn’t work that way.
Only from a distance of 30-40 meters shells sometimes penetrate the jumbo in the hull. At 15-20 meters it’s a sure hit.
The slope the Jumbo is on at 1:39 is on the wrong axis to normalize the slope of the Jumbo, and if anything the effective amour of the Jumbo at that point should be thicker than normal due to it being angled in the horizontal plane. As for the one a 1:10, the camera does show pen it is just that the filter makes it a little hard to see.
Then go to the range and do it again. I assure you that you will not be able to.
Again, don’t have access to a computer right now, but if you look back the through the forums the vast majority of people do not have any problems with penning a Jumbo with the Panther. There is only one other thread where someone experiences anything similar.
i played a lot with the panther and the penetration is nowhere near similar to the wt one, from 200M is still possible to pen but you need rng jesus and aim at certain spot of the hull.
You don’t even need HVAR or bombs, M8 rockets are well than enough to destroy anything from the Puma to the Tiger on direct hit.
