Why is MP40 BT2 and Thompson BT4, dont make any sense, put them at the same tier.

There are Thompsons at br3 as well also there are 2 Thompsons at br2 for the USA as premium squads. But I think 30 round Thompsons at br 2 should never be in the tech tree due to the higher damage and fast rpm compared to same tier smgs.

We have many many Thompson in the game, some are BR3, others BR4 and we have 50+ mag Tommys on BR5. Plus there are Thompsons on BR2 such as the USMC, Hyde and BSA Thompsons.
They are perfectly reasonable on the BR they are on!

I have them both and they are good and play well on BR 5.
I also run them with a second weapon.
The Hyde is so good I understand why they given us an BR 5 version.
BSA Thompsons I give to my M3 Field Mod squad. Tommys all the way.
I don’t know about that. I remember there’s pretty good one and then pretty bad one each BR (BR3 and BR4).
I just don’t remember them by name.

M1 Thompson is regarded as the worst Thompson for its BR and even that is a beast in CQC.
Well, to be fair. It’s definitely better than German BR3 tech tree counterparts.
But that’s because all of them are very lackluster.
I would definitely put the worse BR3 Thompson to lower tier of my imaginary BR3 TT smg tier list.

Yeah Japan and USSR MSGs BR III are just too amazing Type 100 and PPsh-41 are my favorites for this BR but 1928 is very close so its every good br for SMGs if you are not Germany lucky for me I have MP41 xD specially that Type 100 have a secret advantage you can keep stabbing and reloading at the same time and you can charge with it xD

The M1A1 is not on a reasonable BR. The M1928A1 might be, but def not the M1A1.

Not a Thompson. Hyde even had his own patent for the Model 35. Absolutely look incredibly similar, but they aren’t the same
the thing is, Thompson might deal more damage than MP40, however since both kill in close range with 2 shots and MP40 is much easier to control at mid range, I dare to say that Thompons do actually seem a bit over tiered, especially if you would compare them to Soviet SMGs.

because .45 acp hits harder than 9mm and thompsons have a higher rate of fire, hope that answers your question
Lets not forget about the Soviet PPD 43, it’s level 2 tech tree and has a higher ROF, less recoil and bigger Mag then the level three Base M1A1 Thompson.
Level two IMOP should have a Thompson that’s not premium content. I have the two Premium Thompson level two squads, the Chinese Thompson squad, four Hydes and four BSA 1919 Thompson’s from battle pass. There should be at least one level two Thompson in the tech tree IMOP. Just like their should be a BAR at level two.
The thompsons having a higher BR was due to the dev’s attempt at making thompsons the supposed equivalent campaign unlocks to the german stgs because the M2 Carbine was already categorized as an automatic rifle, and the M2 Hyde is nowhere near released yet.
Considering that nearly every thompson variant has garbage sights, higher-than-average recoil, low velocity and minimum mag sizes for SMGs sharing the same tier- There’s hardly any reason to run them unless you really like thompsons.
They could do with a significant recoil buff at the very least.
