Finally the US will get a thompson, the m1a1 version in the upcoming Normandy campaign at level 27th
they are also getting the johnson, which was pacific theatre and hardly used even there. And a chaffee. Germans still dont have the STG or MKb-42

Yeah and it’s sux that they make you grind so much to get it … I supposed we should be happy that it’s not behind a pay wall …
I was really hoping we would get it in place of the sten when Tunisia entered closed beta …
The Thompson M1928A1 is already in the practice mode if you want to give it a try before the update hits, it has a weird vapour trail effect when it shoots though kinda like when the planes shoot so it might still be incomplete. That said when you pick it up it says M1928A1 BOX MAG so who knows 50 or 100 round drum mags might be an option later.
you mean those 2 premium squads? and lego you know damn well that both of them are handheld in different ways
I hope they don’t have the drum mags … US didn’t use them because they were unreliable, hard to keep clean and tended to jam a lot. Mostly used the 30 rnd stick mags but heck we have jumbo’s in Normady so realism and historical accuracy has already been pretty much compromised …
I know, I’m worried about it as well. I mostly play Germany on Normandy so I’m not exactly eager to see it either, but they did explicitly mention the fact the Thompson was using a box mag so its plausible if not likely we’ll see Thompson drum mags in the future. Gameplay aside though I was already aware of the reliability issues with the drum mags since Ian from Forgotten weapons made a video on the subject so I’d prefer not to see them for that reason as well.
Right ? the fg42 plays like an m4, and every trooper get one so it’s everywhere.

The johnson did see use in Europe with the devils brigade (First Special Service Force). They acquired both the LMG and rifle.
Thankfully only the earlier models could use drum mags like the 1928A1. The M1 and M1A1 could never use the drums so it will have to be 20 or 30 round magazines
tommy locked behind 105hrs-120hrs of campaign leveling after all this time asking, can’t believe people are okay with this, seems like a bit of a “leg pull” from the devs if you ask me, lets hope they rework the ally campaign after all this “weapon test mess” is over, so not happy about this decision

I agree, but in Tunsia there can be drum mags, British troops used them. And there is one small mistake. on Thompsons, you dont’t have to recharge it after finishing magazine. Bolt stays back.
