Indeed - however sometimes teams suddenly learn how to defend!
Not 1000, but defended last night on a Normandy map where 1st 3 objectives were lost for <100 by attackers and team started growing some gonads - got to 600 on the 4th, and then we won the game on the last one - it is satisfying
I like to think that asking the infantry to “Please please please get on the f**king point and defend it!” might have helped… but possibly not!
This is so easy to fix but gaijin UK is too stingy and they do not want us to complete multiple quotas in one match and they also hate the concept of excess silver as well.
I’ve lost games where we had over 900 left on the last point, but those were the matches where you have to set the bomb, and the last one is always the hardest. One game we blew up every target as easy as a hot knife going through butter, then the last, apparently it seemed like they had spent the whole match fortifying as it had barbed wire and AP mines throughout the entire floor of the Soviet horse stable, and they had every window manned with a machine gun nest just upstairs from the target with sand bags around it. We couldn’t get close. Finally I set the bomb but we had zero remaining. Once the bomb was set, I quickly died, and since we had basically had no dudes left, they easily cleared it. But that was one game that haunts me to this day. I’ve also been in some games where we were being rolled up, and finally dug in on the last cap point, but never when they still had a full complement of squads.
The flip side of the coin is winning as attacker when you have 0 left at an early point!! (winning with 0 at the last point happens often enough to be not so remarkable!!)
I remember that happening twice - both quite early in the existence of Enlisted before they started “balancing” maps
