I have put a good amount of time in this game with many of the factions and the one thing they all have in common is that player communication is null, 90% of the time players wont communicate, wont play objective and wont coordinate anything. This, I feel, was supposed to be one of this game’s strongest points. Players controlling different AI Squad coordinating strategies to win, but it just doesn’t happen. Everyone is silent and at most you have engineer squads trying to salvage the team with smart rally point placement. People don’t mark where enemy soldiers are coming from, there is no coordination to stop the enemy team from flanking or doing anything really.
This creates a very frustrating environment to play. If you look at past examples of ww2 and or other tactical shooters like Red Orchestra 2, Rising Storm and Squad. Communication was its key and most essential feature and made, even if, losing a fun experience. This just doesn’t currently happen. It’s a battlefield 3 experience and I am not sure if this was what the devs were going for
As someone who had his fair share with playing in clans, I have to say that communication isn’t a key factor to victory in Enlisted.
In Enlisted you play in clan so you know that you won’t be the only capable player in the team and won’t rush into the objective alone.
If I saw a tank 50m away in Heroes and Generals, I reported: tank, sherman M4A1 zone C8 north of Objective 2, hiding in forest.
If I see a tank in Enlisted, I destroy it with my AT gunner or simply spot it and all of the team will see it.
The final factor is difficulty.
Its very difficult to both play Enlisted effectively and communicate at same time unless your enemy is much weaker, most people are too busy coordinating their own squad and killing enemies at the same time which can be challenge on its own with the current fast paced game play especially if you aren’t a sucker farming new players on low BR.
Communication with my team will greatly enhance my gaming experience.
I play with a team but I always feel like I am playing alone because of no communication.
Feels like a solo campaign now.
So how is AI squad and coordinating directly related? I can change your sentence to “Players controlling different soldier coordinating strategies to win” and it still make sense. So I doubt coordinating AI squad is one of the strongest point of the game.
In fact, I think having AI squad actually discourage communication since you can already do most of the stuff with your squad.
This game is simply not a tactical shooter it is rather casual.
the game is too fast paced, the maps too small to allow for any planning or thought,
it’s just "now now now advance advance advance… why are you in the hills trying to set up a rally point or a machinegun nest or an AT gun, you should be on the cap… "
