This game now is extreme single thread hungry!

My friend has a RTX3090 with i9 9900k. But his framerate is lower than me.
I am using a GTX1080 with R5 5600X.
See the task manager:

Weirdly. At beginning of CAT. I was concern about this game’s CPU workload, because at that time, I got trouble playing RO2, which is a single thread workload game. So I tested with my I5 4460 (HSW, 4C4T, 3.2~3.4Ghz). And the task manager shows the workload is balanced though out 4C perfectly.

BTW, AMD YES!

I had the same problem too RTX 3090 128GB Ram and ryzen 3900x CPU

Game seems to run very poor on AMD CPU

Max FPS for me was 50-80. On lowest settings…

on gfn it sometimes drops to 10 fps for a few minutes maximum optimization

The bottleneck is the singlethread, not GPU. Graphic settings dosent matter.
Try to upgrade to any zen3 CPUs.
I was using R5 3600X(after OBT)/R7 1700(before OBT) previously, only after CBT, I saw great single thread demend.

Exactly. I have a very powerful CPU. i5-10600k. And the game only uses 1 thread in 2021! My CPU usage is very low and because this bottleneck, the GPU is also very slow (also low usage). I cant reach stable 144 FPS…

My system: i5-10600k, KFA2 GTX 1660 TI, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, Windows 10.

Like you already said, graphic settings doesnt matter. I have on low/medium/high the same FPS. Only on ultra I have less FPS. But my GTX 1660 TI wasnt made for ultra settings 144 Hz.

In low framerate, GPU matters, in higher framerate, singlethread matters.
But even one of fastest CPU zen3 can not reach stable 144… Maybe we need to wait till October when Intel release Alderlake…

Or they just doing some perfomance things. Because we have 2021. Our powerful CPU´s are nearly worthless. I hope its true that they want to make the game DX12 multicore compatible.

single-thread on DX11 even isn’t normal. DX11 is more a quad-thread API.

As efficient as it can be for minimum FPS, the Dagor engine is trapped in 2012 for CPU usage.
