This game needs some serious buffs or bonuses for weaker side

Moscow Axis, Berlin Allies, Stalingrad Axis the list goes on, I play these sides to try and level up, the fact is to rank up people need wins, which means why play weaker side (more potential for bots) .

The new MMing will not solve this, I don’t mind playing and losing once marshall I try and support weaker sides, also fun to mix it up and I like the challenge tbh.

But the model of this game is win, kills = XP, which in turn means play winning side, easier to get kills. In order for things to change, I feel the devs needs to give significant XP boosts to weaker side, to incentivise players to play that side.

I think it is a fally that it’s because of poor matchmaking logic and BR etc, the real reason is that this game is about winning (bonus XP) so people chose the easier / boring sides.

I must admit it’s not like I never play easy side, I do, to get a break from the hammering I just took on Berlin Allies or Tunisia Axis, but I play the harder side to help the people level on that weaker side.

@1942786 mentioned this was going to be a thing, well this in itself would help balance matches better than any BR system, which will be over complicated and not work and be gamified in no time…

I don’t think this system will help much. This system can surely encourage some veteran player that had already unlocked plenty of stuff on multiple faction to play certain faction. But what about normal player? Is some XP boost really worth it for them to start a new grinding from scratch? Did they have enough resources to do so? Is it worth it to stop grind the faction that you already had some progress?

Br and this system have different balance purpose. Br is for equipment balancing, and this system is to help balancing number of player for both side. Your team still can’t fight tiger with stuarts even if your side have 10 players. So br system is still crucial for balance.

I had a suggestion from a long time ago:

Kind of impressive that it’s still relevant today.

They said they would make a significant XP bonus for playing random side, no idea how it is going to be realised though with br matchmaking.

The main reason that you have such an issue with one side or another being so popular in the first place is BECAUSE of the current buffs and bonuses for the “weaker side” that fluctuates every single time they do a change to it.

Rather than buffing one whole side, the sides need to be put on even ground for game mechanic balancing.

  • No faster capture times.
  • No increased ticket amount based on which faction you are playing.
  • None of that type stuff.

INSTEAD, give a bonus to end of game xp +25% per player less on your team than the opposing side.
This will not only help draw more players to the sides with otherwise less players, but will give greater rewards to those trying to beat the odds, allowing them to level up faster and bring stronger gear faster.

Additionally, it will greatly help reduce the number of deserters that quit just because they see more players on the enemy team.

Hi! Devs are considering in the future giving players an XP booster if they have the “Play any side” button pressed. I think it might help to attract people to less populated sides.

How it would be possible to choose squads and setups you want to use then?

Before starting to search for the game. In new progression, you will have only four sides: USSR, Germany, USA and Japan, so preparing ok-ish setups before searching will be much easier than now.

Playing Allies in Berlin has to be one of the most not fun experiences I’ve ever had in multiplayer gaming. They need some serious buffs if Soviet tanks are going to be so useless.

Same as the Axis side in Normandy, Moscow, Stalingrad, and Tunisia. All Allied tanks in the early campaign were superior to the Germans, resulting in most new players choosing the Allie for the easy win. Veteran German players only have Berlin to survive because it is the only place where Allie tank spamming is solvable.

Ok, so it would choose from your pre-prepared setups from 4 nations, got it

So only considering? Oh boy…
Since BR merge is… coming, last I’ve heard, I’m not sure if it won’t end up being confusing, as there are going to be 2 axis nations - Germany and Japan (if we don’t count the potential splitting Italy as well in the future), and 2 allied… not exactly even nations - the ‘eastern allies’ - USSR, and ‘western allies’ US with UK and other commonwealth nations.
So, 4 separate factions to grind, total.

As expected…
4 times the grind…

This is going to take a while for Free to play’ers to get access to the more shiny (and sometimes even necessary) toys. For all factions, at least.
