There is no point in choosing the MG42 over the MG34

Without the recoil perk, even on the Mg42 bipods, it shakes a lot. Horizontal recoil is impossible to control and it is not quite clear for what logical reason it is so significant.

yeah which is why i’m against lowering the horizontal recoil because you can’t easily control horizontal but you can control vertical

What’s the point of using a higher speed MG42, which aggravates the recoil, with a much slower reload rate.
Maybe the MG42 would have some advantages?

Well, I am not good at controlling recoil via my mouse, MG42’s extreme tense RPM creating almost no gap between each shots makes me just dont need to accurate shooting at all.
Also usually I will use explosive for tons of enemy, so 50 rounds is already very enough.

Also, MG34/42/34with mount mag, are all far better at recoil&spread than DP/DPM/DT. If you play both side, MG’s recoil and spread is far more easy to control than soviet’s ones.

(I use MG34 as primary weapon moscow and MG42 with some MG34 with mount mag for Berlin. The reason that I dont use MG34 with mount mag, is its lower RPM also poor sight.)

Clearly you dont have the MG 42 also, or your Mouse just sucks. You can literally fire this Baby Singlefire by just clicking short on Mouse1.

I’m 99% sure it’s a bug so don’t get used to it.

I don’t think MG-42 should be a direct improvement over the 34 model.
But it could receive some RoF buffs to match historical correctness, this should make it better at taking down groups of enemies but also make it more inaccurate.

Talking about historical accuracy, MG-42 was actually fairly inaccurate compared to other MG’s like for example the MG-34. The reason behind this is logical, higher RoF made it harder to keep aim and the overall cheaper barrel design didn’t help either.

MG-42 should be a side-grade but not a direct upgrade

In the ideal world, yes. But devs chose the path of powercreep.

Ever played DP?

If you have to single-click on MACHINEGUN - something went really wrong. It is the fact that is shots too fast to control bullet count good enough

And yep, i have it, tried a few times, and switched on MG34 Patronetrommels

If you would watch ANY Wehrmacht Video, or Waffen-SS, whatever you prefer, you would also realize something. Or simply if you would have served with the Russian Armed Forces (but hey maybe that will still come to you); you would know that you never fire a MG constantly by holding the trigger. You fire bursts. Hence you press your mouse gently.

@ VoyoMayPL I have you on ignore for all your shit you posted as I mentioned bugs on Normany back in July. Ahh the peace)

Burst is not a single-clicking. Define what you are talking about
I’m playing on LMGs with bursts, not the single-clicks, since, guess what - I’ve served already
But burst eats from 5 to 8 bullets, sometimes even more - it is hard to control burst bullet count. Now you understood ?

love the mg34. every single detail of it.

fired it once irl, since then there is no place in my heart for a mg42.

ingame, 34 its more than the right choise to play with, there is nothing a mg42 can do better besides the horizontal visible recoil to choose it over the 34. and even that , can be a easy recoil patern to learn on the 34.

i would say , mg34 with 75 round mag in berlin, polish bar or normal mg34 in normandy, mg30 in moscow, ZB in current tunisia.

wouldnt change none of the above for a mg42 (on current game state). even if it fired at 1200 rpm.

i agree
as ex:

even fully upgraded that extra possible 100 rpm on mg42 and less 3 points on horizontal recoil still isnt enough to justify choosing it over the 34.

mg42, should have more ammo per belt without the belt holder on the side and more RPM. i would say same as this one:

The economics thing is something that isa really missing from this game - the 34 should cost say 5 ssilver, the 42 perhaps 3 - THEN there would be reason to buy it … except fopr those people who have 500 silver weapon orders they can’t spend already of course…

on early stages of the game sure, could mean alot to have a system like that.
a stamped weapon should cost less to be purchased, but a stamped metal weapon (42) is obtainable (in berlin for example) 9 ranks after the mg34 unlock in the campaign

and the more we play/rank , the more silver or bronze orders we have, making a later unlocked item cheaper to be purchased wouldnt be a smart move.

the economics in this game are indeed broken right now and for months.

as example:

there is no need to spend silvers to obtain the weapon you want, coz sooner or latter, a full maxed out one will come using the bronze orders, to a point, there is no need to spend them anymore since there is a limited number of soldiers you can actually equip the weapons with and or we can always swap weapons to a fresh soldier… and, by 2 or 3 batlepasses, the vehicles are already full maxed out, making silver orders just another random thing to have that mean nothing anymore.

to add to it, more and more golden orders “can” be obtainable, either by the daily rewards, batlepass, events etc, so choosing a skin vehicle sooner or latter using a gold order its still cheaper than upgrading one… this only adds to the insane economic problem this game current have, or be like me that buys every one of them from previous batlepasses, so no need to upgrade normal vehicles…

but you have a nice point nontheless, prices for certain weapons could be diferent, to justify a choose over similar performing weapon.

ps: sorry my “offtopic” but at this stage, i just want something to spend my orders

It would be better if you wrote exactly what I did wrong and start a valuable discusion. But it’s your choise.

Which, in all likelihood, is one of the main reasons leading to the planned change in game economy.

Nevertheless, I tell you all, no I BEG you all, do NOT complain about there being an overabundance of ANY kind of game currency.

Always keep in mind that most of us here on the forum are likely to be premium users, playing several matches daily and/or premium BP owners. As such, it is RIGHTEOUS for us to find ourselves in excess of silver or bronze. We freaking PAY exactly for that, for NOT being bothered by excessive grind and artificial resources shortages.

Game economy must be tailored around FREE players (if not casuals), to make them want to pay but ALSO to be sustainable enough to keep them around even if they choose not to.

If you start strangling players with arbitrary bronze/silver sinks to the point where you NEED to be one of us paying and dedicated players in order to progress (or, worse, just to break even - hello WT), the free playerbase will soon kiss goodbye and be gone for good.

Then advocate for something like being able to trade 100 silver or 300 bronze for 1 gold, or something along these lines, but asking for higher costs is shooting yourself and everyone around you in the foot.

You knowingly chose to speedrun your way through by whaling, it’s perfectly normal that this way you now find yourself in an excess of resources. But your experience is far from the average.

I also can fire single shot;

Bursts do 3-5 for me, I guess, Mouse issue.

I’m just nervous, hands are shaky, so shaky that I had to switch on Logitech MX vertical, since it is pretty massive, so shaking cause less troubles
Still, Bigger RoF is the problem for spray and burst control
