The Yugoslav Partisans

I am interested if the partisans will be added to the game, and if they aren’t I would like to see them in the game, it would be interesting to fight in maps with more hills and forests. Alongside the partisans it would be interesting to add the Chetniks and Bulgarians. They don’t have to be major with alot of content like the Germans or Soviets etc. Just having them in the game could be fun.

The idea itself sounds good but there are no maps or faction that could fit the Yugoslav partisans, unless you want to see Yugoslavs storming the beaches of Normandy or fighting in the frozen fields of Moscow.

They could add an extra campaign for the battle of Neretva for example. The campaign doesn’t have to be too big since I know the game is more focused on big battles in France, Germany and the Soviet Union but having a small batch of maps for the Yugoslav partisans would be nice.

A map is the easier part, but what faction will they belong to? What about voice lines because voice actors are expensive, what about vehicles?

For faction I propose a new one, voice actors I know are expensive and I’m sure they can find some way, and vehicles they can either go with historical accuracy and not have vehicles at all if they are doing 1941 - 1944 operations or they can go with gameplay focus and give them the soviet T-34-76 and T-34-85 which they recieved in 1944 and 1945 alongside much more vehicles.

I support this idea.

Ive been asking for Balkan campaign for years now (Greece, Yugoslavia, Crete).

Yugoslav partisans make sense.

Balkan maps would allow for British, Australian, New Zealand and Greek squads.

A guerilla squad of Greek/Cretan resistance fighters and British commandos would be cool (see W. Stanley Moss’ autobiography).

Also an opportunity for German Fallschirmjager squads.

Im not sure about factions. The Greeks Id put under either existing USA-UK tree, or as a part of a separate UK-Commonwealth tree if we ever get one.

Tito’s partisans as a squad under USSR would make sense, except then one would have USSR and Allies fighting Germany-Italy which isnt correct. (and USSR didnt fight in Yugoslavia anyway).

Bulgarians Id add to Axis tree or separate Italy tree.

Chetniks Id add to Allies or UK-Commonwealth tree, Ustase to Axis or Italy tech tree.

The only problem is war crimes/ethnic tensions. Im guessing youre probably from former Yugoslavia yourself so am well aware of the issues. Now of course the Germans, Italians, Japanese and Soviets perpetrated war crimes too.
But when I search Chetniks and Ustase war crimes come up straight away so Im just concerned whether those might be considered problematic (especially given ethnic conflict in Yugoslavia happened as recently as 30 years ago)

The ideas you have are great, now for the ethnic tensions yes i am from a former Yugoslav country and well understand the problems we have, the recent conflict is very tragic but i don’t think it will affect anything in a WW2 game. I might be wrong as my country was not involved in the 90s wars
