The poor old Panzer IV tends to get over shadowed in the Normandy Campaign these days by the Panther and now the Tiger aswell but something about running this tank and scoring just as well as I do in the Tiger feels fantastic. Also shout out to the Schurzen plates for actually doing their job it’s nice to see
Probably my fav german tanks of ww2. my only problem is you get matched with a 5.3 american tank *cough jumbo. shooting at the mg port is always the answer but enlisted tank combat is jank af. so its not worth the fight
I have no problems dealing with other tanks with the PZ4
Indeed, around the d-day, the newly formed armored division SS12th,half of their tanks are Panzer iv.This old horse was much better in reverse than panther.
Good to see they’re worth something somewhere. They are utter trash in Stalingrad. Sure, great shot power if you catch your target unawares, but they get absolutely wrecked by a stiff breeze.
probably the best tank of the war
My bike has much better reverse than Panther.
Yesterday i died with a OneShot in my Pz4 Tunisia… some Crazy A13 Driver did it, i’m shocked.
I’m still on the stubby Pz III in Normandy, so this is like a Porsche to me, maybe one day I unlock it.
Technically the Tiger 1(P) is a porsche
That was an easter egg reference to Porsche’s finest creation - the Ferdinand.
Kursk as next campaign confirmed.
I would actually like to see Kursk as a Campaign. Long range open large scale battles would be a cool switch up for Enlisted
I’d give that vote to the StuG III. Most underrated but the best AFV the Wehrmacht had.
While playing through Axis Normandy the Pz IV served me very well. Felt like an enormeous upgrade to the previous tanks.
I would definitely agree if the poor Stug wasn’t locked behind a 5700 gold pay wall in enlisted. If it didn’t cost so much I would have bought it a long time ago
I hate the fact that the StuG is not in all campaigns as it should be. It was there right at the beginning of WW2.
so is the leopard 1 main battle tank
Totally agree it had a huge role in the war and makes sense considering they made over 10,000 of them. It definitely shouldn’t be restricted to a crazy expensive premium vehicle. To this day with 208 battles in the Normandy Campaign I have never once seen a Stug III that says something
You scored as well mainly because most people are subpar at the game. I used to like playing with tanks in Normandy Axis but now I even find it hard wanting to play as a Panther, even less play a Pz.
Not getting immediately blown up by a plane is already hard enough, you also have the constant Jumbos which tend to be hard to engage. The Pz also has many weakspots even in the front, they can easily kill your gunner along with disabling the horizontal drive if they actually try to aim. You can even be one-shot by 75mm HE if hit on the sides, plates can help prevent this but they aren’t going to last much. It is also quite easy to disable the cannon, not that you actually need to do this because of how easy it is to take out the gunner (unless there’s two Pz you need to take care of). The Pz also gets stuck on everything (specially the H) and it often struggles in areas other tanks don’t.
Generally, the Pz doesn’t do well in any campaign unless the players you’re against don’t bother to take you out or they are too bad to do so.
At the end the reason it gets “overshadowed” is because it’s a bad tank compared to a lot others in the game, even the M4A2 which you get at the same level as the Pz IV J is overall better than the Pz IV H…
I get where you’re coming from and perhaps it’s the dedication I’ve put into playing armor (I play almost exclusively armor) but I don’t have issues the same issues or at least to the same extent. I say the Panzer IV is overshadowed because the Panther and Tiger are stronger tanks there’s no arguing that but I’d take a Panzer IV over the M4A2 any day. That may be biased but that’s my feeling on that matter
Which might have to do with the ELO ranking matchmaker of this game. To me it’s obvious that the game tries to balance every player of a match with someone in the opposing team who has either an roughly equal campaign lvl, compareable stats regarding effectivity or some other kind of comparing factor.
Therefor the higher you advance the more you meet players who can put an equal pressure on you as you on the enemy and got the necessary gear to make your tankers life hell. It also increases the weight that’s been placed on your shoulders to carry the team as there dont seem to be THAT many top level players around per match.
