I count a mere eight variants of the BAR currently represented in-game, across every nation except the Soviet Union; and that just seems unfair.
The western allies get the majority of the bars, which makes sense; the Germans get two variants thanks to the premium wz squad and the gold order fn; even the Japanese get the fn variant that they captured from the Chinese.
My deep and thorough historical research, which involves clicking on the ‘users’ tab on the ‘M1918 Browning automatic rifle’ Wikipedia page; shows that the Soviet Union also used captured polish wz. 1928s, and Colt commercial variants that were sold on the Russian market during the inter-war period.
With this knowledge in hand, I humbly suggest, request, and behest that the Soviet Union be blessed with their own copy of the Browning Automatic Rifle.
This will give the added bonus of tying the BAR with the kar98k and Thompson as the weapons with the most in-game variants, which is something I think that we all want to see happen for such a loved and well respected weapon.
Another excellent option! Although for the sake of variety I’d rather see the Model 1925 Colt BAR, any option would be a welcome addition to the Enlisted BAR family
Besides the reasons I already mentioned? One could argue that the BAR gets half the movement and ads penalty of the dp, giving it a slight advantage in assault by comparison.
The truest and most important reason is to complete the circle of BARs, and give them to the one faction not yet blessed with the gifts of John Browning
I can’t do it. I can’t cope with the knowledge that the USSR doesn’t get the BAR.
It would be a perfect weapon for an event squad, like the Charlton squad; or just an event reward by itself like the red pp or the fliegerfaust. I’d also accept it as a gold order or even a premium squad as a last resort.
Edti: or the Besal, that’s the event lmg reward I couldn’t think of as an example
They dont need it, but it would be funny for every nation to have the BAR, kind of like in war thunder where every tech tree has a sherman in some form or another. Im sure thats what OP was going for.
