The solution to the kamikaze problem

I’m yet to see such sniper.

They don’t exist → they aren’t a problem.

Its technically possible in the current game, just like how crashing your plane is possible.

The difference is that suiciding as infantry is rare while kamikadze planes are in almost every game.

I suicide my infantry typically if its the last man in a squad or after dropping a grenade too close.

My point here is that are you going to punish players for using a feature of the game?

It’s a feature that’s beneficial only to one person in a match, the kamikadze pilot. Meanwhile enemy team has to deal with cancerous behaviour they can’t do anything about.

So yes, I am ready to punish players for using “game features” (like hitting the ground in a plane), if they have negative impact on the other players’ experience.
Of course if it’s resonable. I won’t sugest to ban good players because noobs have bad exence :upside_down_face:

Do you want to use one problem to justify another?

Typically both teams do it, and its no more cancerous (and certainly less effective) than placing AA guns in doorways or sitting in a Panther on a hill.

Its not a negative impact on my playing experience when it happens to me, I just go grab another squad and go back to playing.

I’m not using the existence of these guns in game to justify kamikaze planes.
I’m using the example of these ahistorical guns to show that the argument of historical accuracy is pointless. How it effects gameplay is all that matters, not historical accuracy.

This negatively affects the game.

AA you can destroy or dismount.
Camping tanks are also a problem but you can at least bomb them. Not ideal solution but better than nothing.

Good for you. But I (and suspect a few other players too) don’t like it when I’m repetitively bombed and can’t do anything about it.

Does it?
I don’t think it does, most people don’t seem to mind getting to play the Ross rifle or Berdan II.
Without the M2 Carbine and Jumbo, Normandy would be a lot less balanced.

Who is to blame that the Americans did not come up with anything.
I want to have a historical game, not another battlefield, cod.

That is perhaps the part I should clarify, my main reason to support not punishing kamikaze pilots is that it is often the only way to displace heavily entrenched enemies or said camping tanks.

I was always against aircraft in this game, kamikaze tactics are not something I like, but they are sadly necessary in the current game. My suggestion to end kamikaze strikes is instead of punishing players for doing it, add in automatic rearmament of bombs over time (if you’ve played War Thunder arcade battles, you’ll know what I’m talking about) so after you drop your bombs, you wait 30 seconds for them to respawn.

No. It’s not the only way.
You can bomb the tank and not kamikadze! Amazing, isn’t it!

That could work too.

So you want a historical game?
Well lets break this down campaign by campaign

Normandy

Aircraft: Allies should have 2 aircraft available to be in a match at any point, Axis should have 1

Tanks: Allies should also have around 2-3 tanks allowed to the German’s 1

Team size: The Allies had about 5.5 times as many troops, so 3 German players vs 17 Allied players

Weapons: Allied troops would be equipped with Garands, M1 Carbines, No. 4s, Thompsons, STENs, Brens, and BARs, Germans would have mostly Kar 98s, maybe a few Gewehr 41s/43s, a couple LMGs

Interesting possible features: Allies get artillery strikes every 20 seconds with no limit to how many artillery strikes are called in at once, additionally they get paratrooper spawns behind the enemy, AI Ally bombers will also randomly spawn and drop their payloads on German positions.

Berlin

Aircraft: Russians could get 2-4, Germans none

Tanks: Russians get 4-5, Germans get 1 slot and a total of 3 tanks in the entire match

Team size: 4 Germany players, 12 Russian players

Weapons: Russians get their standard assortment, Germans get mostly Volkstrum weapons, any decent weapons will be prone to break

Interesting possible features: Germans get a quarter the ammo normally allotted, additionally they’re slower with less HP to represent being Volkstrum.

Need I go on?

You can, but thats a lot less useful than crashing

Sometimes you have to suicide bomb. Often when i deploy a plane, enemy team immediately starts to cap our point. So i have to suicide after bombing, because the team crumbles after i leave the point. If i had to run back to the rearm point i would lose whole point maybe even 2 if i was using the slow stuka.

That is understandable. But that’s exactly how it should work.
You should crash because you need to (aka you do it but you loose something in exchange), not because it’s profitable.

That’s the point. Crashing should be an accident / born out of necesity (like @Vojta_369 said). Not something you do for a profit.

Yes,
Kamikaze is so common right now because it is a necessity in the current meta
