Another way to give people a reason not to leave the battle after losing the first checkpoint. The reward is almost similar daily loot boxes we already have in the game.
5 battles with no desertion - small loot box (3 bronze orders weapons/soldiers)
10 battles with no desertion - medium loot box (2 silver orders weapons/soldiers)
20 battles with no desertion - large loot box (soldier customization tickets, boosters, 1 day of premium)
50 battles with no desertion - loot box with a chance of getting golden order.
1000 battles with no desertion - Rommel avatar
So the main idea is the longer you keep fighting with no desertion the greater the reward is.
not worth it. game should be enjoyed, not forced to play for some (bad) rewards. it would just reward people who play advantageous sides (like normandy axis). if you want people not to desert, then you should fix playerbase disparity between sides.
Good thinking, at least as game is without levelling. Quitting is a cancer on this game. Selfish players/deserters should be punished no matter what excuse.
Nobody is forced. If you care for these rewards you keep playing if you don’t you leave. This measure doesn’t force anybody to do a thing, but only gives a reward if one decided not to leave a game but keep fighting.
you will just make playerbase disparity even worse with this. why would you play e.g. normandy allies when you are almost guaranteed shit game 80% of the time? all those people would just go to normandy axis and even make games shittier.
Every 20 battle withaut desertion
Boox with 20 costumization order
Every 50 battle withaut a desertion
Lootbox with a possibility to win a random gold order or 20 random silver order or 30 random bronze order or 300% booster

i grinded normandy allies. but it was shit experience for solo player. on average you have 4-5 console players and rest are mostly bots vs full leveled pc axis players. what you are suggesting is just going to tilt balance even worse. i wouldnt even finish normandy allies grind if i didnt desert for sanity sake. when you see cap points being overrun in time you went to build rally point, or 0 rally points built when you take vehicle, you just have 0 incentive to play lost battle.
on other hand normandy axis grind was super easy mode. allies mostly bots and console players. low level players with low level vehicles. when you get tiger out you can easily get 10 tank kills without even trying. only time you lose is when enemy has 1-2 super sweaty 4 player stacks.
so tell me which is easier and more enjoyable side to play without deserting? if i wanted to grind those rewards i would choose axis every time. and that is why suggestion is bad.
if you want to fix desertion you must fix following problems:
allow selection of modes you want to play. personally i hate assault and conquest and auto quit them, detonation and confrontation depends on my mood. some people desert all 4 of them, some only select few.
allow selection of maps/sides. people just dont want to play shit maps or want to play certain side on maps.
fix playerbase disparity and introduce MM. tough battles against evenly matched opponents is fun. roflstomps arent.
