The reason why tank destoryer in this game are trash

This is indeed what I think, the Pz.IV is capable of penetrating any Soviet tank (if you don’t get hit first), similar to the T3485.

The biggest problem is that this game allows unlimited vehicle respawns
What’s the point of you destroying the tank? The next tank will be deployed immediately
no tactical value

XP, tank farming is the most reliable XP farming method.

It does, thought.

A well placed tank can halt an entire assault, or one advancing slowly with infantry can be the variable allowing the assault team to push forward enough.

Now delete that tank mowing down and exploding your team and suddenly your buddies have breathing room to take better positions, face enemy infantry more easily (just not having to worry).

Now even if a new tank can spawn… it will take time for it to reach the ideal position again, and if it does… Well the tank destroyer you use is still waiting for it.

It’s all to give or preserve momentum for your allied boots, or to remove the enemy’s.

(wall of text incoming, be warned)

In my opinion, the main issue with tank destroyers is that many of the maps are not designed in a way which enables their strengths to shine and they are being used in campaigns which are not conducive to their use. Berlin has some of the best tank and tank destroyers for either side yet it is basically nothing but tons of little rooms, windows and so on where infantry can hide and VERY easily kill even endgame tanks with very early game anti tank weapons, nevermind someone equipped with the finest rockets, mines and detpacks they can get their hands on at max campaign level. Tank Destroyers are best in areas where they can engage at long ranges or where they can be highly mobile and the location of the points or even the map as a whole only rarely suit them in this role. More often then not, circumstances force you to close to ranges FAR closer than you would like for maximum effectiveness and accuracy, where infantry can easily wipe out even regular tanks, nevermind vehicles which are not well suited to countering them.

I personally, would make the ground vehicles tier list look similar to the one from war thunder and ill explain my reasoning abit. You can agree or disagree with my idea but i feel it’d be the best approach. I’m going to compare the allies to germany here because that’d make the most sense.

So, like in War Thunder, you would have multiple choices for each given “Tier” or “Battle Rating” but it would ultimately still boil down to a “Tank Destroyer”, a “Medium/Heavy Tank” and what i’ll call an “Infantry Tank” rather than a light tank, this is to better differentiate each tank in it’s given role in the game.

Here’s an example of what that would look like.

The M13 MGMC would be the allied “Infantry Tank” in the lowest tier/battle rating and it looks like it will be the starter allied tank post-merge. It would fit well in this role as it’s rapid fire 12.7mm rounds could be quite devastating to enemy infantry, but will be much less effective against vehicles of all stripes. Very effective against “Light” vehicles, but not much else. By contrast the germans would have the Panzer II C, which has a heavier hitting main gun, but one which is still effectively just a giant machinegun. Still very useful against infantry but not ideal for use against anything heavier than light vehicles. The ONLY thing an “Infantry” tank would need is to be extremely good at killing alot of infantry and messing with terrain elements abit, even if it’s very ‘meh’ against vehicles, so for later game any tank which was designed to shoot down aircraft or any tank which are just good against infantry by their nature, such as the “Ostwind Flakpanzer”, the “Sturmpanzer IV ‘Brummbar’” or the “Sturmtiger” would be good examples of what would be a very good, lategame tanks in this role.

According to the tier list they proposed for post merge, they would put the M2A4 as “In Folder” and i feel this would make alot of sense for the “Medium” or “Normal” tank. The M2A4 has an actual “Cannon” so it’d be much more effective in a fight with the panzer II than the M13 would be, but it’s slightly less useful against infantry. Opposing it on the german side would be the italian 14/41. It’s a very good choice for a tier 1 tank, it has machineguns which aren’t great, it moves too slow to make for a good tank destroyer, i could see it being a decent rival to the M2A4 but one which would be quickly outmoded.

For a Tier 1 tank destroyer, it’d get trickier. It needs to be inferior to the puma but better than either the M2A4 or the 14/41 in terms of either movement, their cannon, or both. I would turn to other options we’ve seen in war thunder, such as the british “SARC MkIVa” for the allies, and for the germans they’d get something like the “le.Pz.Sp.Wg. Sd.Kfz. 221”. Both being armored cars with cannons, they’d potentially be good fits for the very early game tank destroyer role.

You could cherry pick individual tanks that already exist in enlisted as well as sprinkling some from war thunder for each of the later tiers and battle ratings for each side and if there’s any decent level of cooperation between Darkflow and Gaijin, it wouldn’t be as difficult as making something from scratch. Even better, almost all examples in war thunder were either actually used in the war (in cases like japan, they’d likely still have to turn to alot of experimentals, but such was the nature of the pacific war)

This would give tanks abit more playstyle, justifying various different ground vehicles in different roles while still feeling authentic to the conflict. We could increase variety and for given maps or battles just choose which vehicle we want to use based upon what would be most appropriate for either our playstyles or how the fight is going on.

But that’s just my idea, i’m sure many of the anyone who bothers to read this far are going to call me stupid for, any of a number of reasons.
