As an engineer i place ammo crates but im not sure anybody uses them. It would be great if when you place things like that it shows up on the map and hud so people can resupply. I dont care if you get points or anything but it seems like the only people using crates are people resupplying themselves.
Also it might be interesting to have some sort of ammo resupply character. That can see if people are low on ammo (or people can have a command that calls out “low on ammo”) and you can run to resupply them for points.

Every bot can give you ammo but you have to have +/- 25% of your last mag and you will get only one mag.
I know that but its sort of goofy asking a guy with a mosin for a madsen machine gun mag. It would be one thing if there was an assistant machinegunner.
I don’t know how it was in other armies but in late war (I think) german army every soldier had to carry ammo for MG, although as you’ve said assistant gunner typically took care of this.
Being able to resupply MGs etc. only thanks to the assistant gunner that can easily die is a bit questionable.
But it can be done, I don’t say “no”.
