Dear DF Devs, whilst any content updates are welcomed, I have noticed a trend recently where lots of BR5 fantasy prototype stuff is being added to the game. I cannot speak for everyone, but I for one play BR2, 3 and 4 (if I want to liven it up but stay real)
The majority of player base is playing BR2, 3 doesn’t even get that much attention, as people post merge deleted legacy squads, they now struggle to make BR presets for all levels.
If you want to add vehicles planes, they are still so many choices across all factions at lower BRs. Please listen to players…no more Ho Ris, Hyde’s but perhaps add the Priest GMC (with indirect fire like BA), add the equivalent to Axis, add the spitfire later model for BR3/4, but I will leave vehicle and planes addition recommendations to others.
M7 HMC Priest. GMC’s are usually self propelled anti tank guns. The Priest has a howitzer. I’d love to see more HMC’s/SPH’s in general to be honest
M7 HMC Priest with the 75mm howitzer
We already got the M8 HMC Scott
M43 HMC which is a 203mm howitzer on an M4A3
T19 HMC being the 105mm howitzer on an M3 Halftrack
T30 HMC an M3 Halftrack with the M1 pack howitzer instead
T92 HMC which is the T26E3 (Pershing chassis) with a big ol 240mm howitzer
And one of my personal favorites I would LOVE to see…
M45 HMC. The evolution of the in-game M4A3 (105). It is a Pershing with a modified turret and mantlet with the 105mm howitzer. Good stuff. Love muh Pershing. Love muh HMC’s. M45 is just perfection
And there actually isn’t a whole lot of “fantasy” per say in BR V. Namely the Ho-Ri, Condors, and a couple other “questionable” additions that were either barely made prototypes, half functioning prototypes, or weapons fielded in few number. For example, the American MG 34 chambered in 30-06 could not cycle. It jammed every single round…apparently
But all the rest that don’t fall into these categories are either fielded weapons or in the middle of testing prototypes stage of development that theoretically could’ve seen adoption if not for the war’s end
I hate the paper as much as the next guy, but most of the things in the game DID exist and WERE functioning prototypes with tests and statistics
gold order weapons being prototypes was the perfect system - you would be limited to 4 guns, and grinding through all the many events was worth it because you would get a gold order in the end.
all the devs had to do is adding more interesting prototypes as gold orders and we could have continued with cool content for the next years to come.
also - even though “many” dont like BR5 because its heavy on full auto spam - equally many, if not more, dont like br1 because its bolt action heavy. The whole point about the BR system is that you get different gear and gameplay depending on what you play. Why would that be a bad thing?
It doesn’t even bother me much that BR1 is primarily about BA rifles. What annoys me about BR1 is that it just feels like such a trial BR.
You can’t have APCs, you can’t have MGs… It’s terribly limiting, especially since I really enjoy these classes.
That’s why it’s clearly my least played BR.
(But I am not saying they should add MGs and APCs to BR1.)
I still play all BRs tho. And if there was a ±0 MM, I think the current BR4 would be my favorite of them all. But since that’s not case, my favourite is definitely BR5 at the moment.
But what really triggers me is this attitude that some people have:
“When some BR/Faction gets something. It’s definitely at the expense of something else.”
And then those people have need to start lobbying for BR/faction they doon’t like to get nothing. Because following their logic, it means better chance for their favorable BR/faction to get something.
i remember a cm saying " a lot of people already sold legacy squads )
can’t say which of the 3 said that.
but it’s alright.
granted, it’s more of a he said, she said type of thing.
but if a community manager says, could be true.
granted, what we were discussing is a bit outside this topic.
but i presume the point still stand.
beside, you do underestimate how lazy people are when it comes to squad management.
hell, few ccs even gave up:
the absolute state of ccs:
rambles quarter of an hour, > asks subscribers about opinions and workarounds for a squad management
hey, at least it’s not 30mins… unlike someone. but i digress.
P.s. believe my words or not, i don’t follow most CCs of enlisted.
they are the absolute worst. often get things wrong, outdated and aren’t even bothered to put some decent content outside slop. everyone has opinions, and it’s in their right to express them of course.
however, maybe it’s just me who i can’t stand most of them.
that video was brought to my attention by a close friend of mine to talk about it.
This is a direct consequence of the merge. It’s a massive arms race to get the biggest and baddest kit. The USSR and Germany have the heaviest arsenals and since the US needs to fight Germany, they need more shit too and since Japan fights the US, they need more shit to counter the US’s shit.
This didn’t use to be a problem since the campaigns controlled what weapons you can and can’t use in that respective theater but now that we just have BRs, it’s just use whatever is the most powerful. For example, had the Tiger II had been confined to the Berlin campaign, then the Super Pershing would have never been added.
My clan mates are the proof, a lot of them sold their legacy squads so now I say come play BR3 / 4 they have to configure soldier presets individually.
I have sperate squads on the whole for 2,3,4,5 presets but I guess I am a whale!
Only Japan not enough squads (using premiums too)
I’m fine with prototypes as long as it’s needed to fill a TT gap and the only other alternative Is copy pasting from another TT. Prototypes for the sake of prototypes are a bit… meh? In my opinion.
