The Planes are way to OP

he he

Wow I did write that
Now to backpedal and say I meant that for fighters only)))

But honestly if you spray in front of planes as they’re diving in to bomb there’s a good chance you’ll hit them and damage them enough to crash or they’ll panic and crash if they hear something impact them.
It helps that the game makes the plane jank when updated with damage so that could screw them into a crash too.

Make AA turn fast only when pointed to the sky - keep it slow otherwise. Yes I know it does not work on all maps, but worth a try.

I guess I’m willing to designate a single squad member as AA personnel after building it. Whenever I’d press button “8” (just like radioman’s “7”) I’d be controlling the AA gun unless the guy is shot dead. So rest of the squad is free to go and fight, and whenever plane approaches, I set them to go prone and I press 8…
Don’t know whether it would work or not. And don’t know what should happen if rest of team is dead - should the guy remain on keybinding 8 and join as my next squad’s AA personnel?

It’s true - but most of the time you feel like a looser not helping your team just sitting and waiting for that plane to return… and miss… and wait… So adding the option to keep fighting until plane returns as described above would help a bit. @TheCampingOwl seems to be proficient enough with AA already but not me yet.

Repeat after 15 minutes penalty is over for destroying Luftwaffe property, or 30 enlisted gold is payed for collateral damage. I hope they’ll add it, Gaijin would surely support my idea.

I recently flew a junker on DDay and the allies lost without capturing point 1. I’d say its funny, but unrealistic.

Are you comparing the amount of ammo and the damage it does of planes and tanks? Tanks can get x10 kills than a plane without reloading ammo, you can even be all the match without needing to go for ammo, only HE runs out

Next will be tanks, then smgs, then automatic rifles, it all started with the arty now that is nerfed the people wants to nerf planes, there is always something to cry for!

planes are strong under some circustances, tanks are stron under some circustances, same applies for SMGs, and automatic rifles all of them can be very strong. IF people would go forward they wouldn´t cry so much about planes but NOOO its fun to camp at the obj

Btw planes have counter aswell, dont clutch like apes on the obj like the people that dont know to play is one of them

I foresee some sword duels between certain forum members.
“There can be only one!”

Technically planes should be more OP, because 500 lb bombs should flatten houses and crush bunkers. The houses and bunkers are invincible in this game though.

Nah, just the ones that require 0 skill 0 effort.
Tanks are fine.

Technically a single hit from AA / AT rifle would bring the plane down but unfortunately those planes has better armor than tanks.

Technically artillery strikes should be even more Op, because they’re supposed to be from 100mm+ howitzers hehe

Technically its quite irrelevant as the maps are so small that probably none of the fighting factions would order artillery to so close of friendlies.
Soviets might be exception, probably shelled friendlies just for giggles.

The problem with everything is us. In real life we would not rush objectives as hard as in the game. Forces will fight for a middle ground, advance and repeat. Many times I see unecesary slaughtering due to this rush mindset. One of my greatest desires would be to hear from the devs what they envisioned the scale of war could be. If we play role specific and advanced into enemy territory more responsibly I think we’d get a better feeling of what it would have felt like in those times. Immersion would be better. Mindless, wreckless rushing would be traded for more considerate tactical maneuvers. I recently read that our soldiers might get lingering damage in the form of negative perks that would be amazing and further build on playing more carefully. Please, please, please do that devs. Planes are perfect as it is. I can count on one hand how many times planes have actually killed me. It all amounts to situational awareness and fully understand roles of squad variety. Anyway just my two peas in the pot. Safe travels to all.
