German submachine guns up to 5 BR are complete crap compared to Soviet or American ones. They have neither damage nor rate of fire, but you would think “Oh! It has less recoil!” The main problem is that the recoil is small, but the damage is simply not enough, you can easily be outshot at 50 meters.I have repeatedly observed and experienced that, both close and far, the MP 40, ZK 383, or all these Italian parodies literally cannot do anything to counter the same PPSh or PPD, or even the PPS.But the worst hell comes with 4 BR against the Soviets, I always played against the donors from the Soviet side, the premium PPSh with a rate of fire of the speed of light, they were simply created to squeeze the Germans.I would like to see the damage of German SMGs updated because they are no competition.
Then the Dev’s give the Soviets the Uragan, which is just another kick in the dick if your main faction is Germans.
That being said, I think the MP 40’s game ROF is fairly accurate.
The ZK-383 upon basic research says it came with two rate of fire options, 500 and 700 and DF gave it’s base 700 and 810 max, so, appears to be fairly accurate here.
The Kiraly 39m, upon a quick search says 650-720, with some claims of 760 and 820, and DF went with 760 base and 870 maxed, so no complaints here.
The only German SMG I have been beating the drums about change is the FNAB 43, as it was set at a base of 400 ROF, and upon searching I find more places stating 600-837 then I do the DF base 400. I found one source that quoted 400. I’m quite sure both were made with high and low ROF, but I don’t think the 400 would be the most common. The FNAB currently should be a level one SMG as it is, and a slow firing level one at that. In fact it shoots slower then the Grease Gun, and has less hitting power. So, other then the FNAB, I really don’t have a problem with German SMG’s.
So, IMOP the ZK-383 is the closest thing in performance to the PPS-43 and Uragan. I think DF set the PPS-43 a little high and I have no idea what the Uragan’s ROF was in real life, so no comment here. However, with the PPS-42 and PPS43 the Uragan IMOP is a little overkill at level two, simply because it is not needed.
BTW, I don’t know all the real life stats on all the various Thompson’s in the game as of now, but I would say they are not entirely out of line, and I think they got the Grease gun 100% accurate.
