The Pacific Has Landed

My thoughts on the major news release are in this video…

Not gonna lie I’m pleasantly surprised by it, but there are some big things the devs do need to address which we don’t know about yet…

What do you think of it, and what do you hope the devs will announce in the next few dev blogs?

I wouldn’t be that worried about the japaneese not having many smg’s. We have Stg variants in Moscow, a ton of very nieche weapons used by entire armies, experimental weapons or ones that were produced in very limited quantities. They will find smgs to use for the japanese, and if all else fails, they can use captured chinese guns.

Thats the problem

Japs didnt have many SMGs

And since this is early war 1942-1943 the only SMG they have was the Type 100/40

If this was 1944 you could also include Type 100/44. But it isnt.

The premium squad SMG is already an experimental weapon that didnt see combat.

Prepare yourself for lend lease MP28 and captured tommies.

@MajorMcDonalds i dont agree on the part you go “against” getting “soldiers/weapons” 1 star from fully upgraded.

its a nice touch included on the overall pack price, a nice one to ease the grind for everyone in the game. dont go against it/state its useless and or only worth for new players. we as costumers with or without a surplus of orders will apreciate less grind for orders and more shooting.

But i would probably have 2x or 3x faster unlock time than it. And slots

The only reason i bought Stalingrad.

And the only reason i wont buy Pacific unless they give faster unlock time and at least 1 slot

And technically it just save 18 bronze per soldier.

I think it’s not too much, and yet very usefull for premium squad will become worst and worst, the more you unlock better equipment and tnaks.

No, Japanese had other SMGs.
Different to Army, Navy used SMGs since 1930s for naval landing party who defend settlements in China.
They imported a lot of SIG-Bergmann M1920 (with 7.63x25mm Mauser, 50 ammo box magazine and bayonet) and Steyr-Solothurn S1-100 (with 7.63x25mm Mauser, 30 ammo box magazine and bayonet).

Also, in case of army, they mass-produced not only Type 100 machine pistol but also Experimental Model 2 Machine Pistol, Improved Vehicle-Mounted Type (試製二型機関短銃改良車載型, I don’t know English name.)
It was an improved version of the Experimental Model 2 machine pistol, which had lost out in competition to the Experimental Model 1 machine pistol, an early prototype of the Type 100 machine pistol. It was shorter than Type 100 machine pistol, so they selected it for tanker’s equipment and mass-produced at the late of war.

p.s.
This campaign seems to be covering whole battle of Asia-Pacific war between 1941-45. Pre-order squad, Giretsu paratroopers was established in 1945 and participated commando operation to attack Yomitan and Kadena airfield at Okinawa island.
