don’t really remember when the p47 was the undisputed ruler of the air, i remember when the 188 and the a-20 were the rulers but the p47 has had competition since it’s introduction.

I barely see any A-20 though, people tend to use the P-47. As for the 188, yeah it still wreaks havoc in Normandy.

if your p-47 has legs then you might need to take it to a vet
this was way back in OBT when the bombs will wipe you pretty much anywhere on the map

They do suicide a LOT in this game instead of doing multiple runs and trying to dogfight. Makes getting plane kills really annoying

It already got nerfed, HVAR is much weaker than in the past. You can barely destroy tanks with that and need to rely on bombs. If they need to nerf anything it’s the Axis planes especially ones at Moscow that will bomb your ass constantly and destroy any soviet tank or groups of infantry trying to defend points every 3mins
No it’s not as good as thunderbolt it only has nerfed rockets and no bombs plus it’s much less maneuverable and is slower. That’s a pretty worthless plane.

So it is official? I completely missed it. But definitely felt it.
Yeah they changed the rockets about month ago, HVAR had too much pen compared to other rockets so they nerfed it now you need to aim at the armor of the vehicle from the certain angles and not near the vehicle. Now it’s better to save HVAR for infantry and use bomb on tanks.

There were only “comparable” in one period, when MK108 was bugged and was capable of destroying tanks.
P-47 is the best plane in the game no doubt about it, then comes FW-190 D-12 which is worse than P-47 but still very good.

From my experience prefered choice for kamikaze in Normandy are bf110 and P-38 and there is full equality in overall frequency of it on both sides.

Of couse they did and it should be fully referenced in the game for maximal historical accuracy.
you know minus 21cm rockets being able to kill tanks and are pretty much still allowed to kill tank, even then the mk108s main strength is that it’s an airplane and infantry mulcher
21cm are capable of doing that but they are very inefective at it from my POV.
MK108 is best overall air canon in the game, BK 3.7 almost don’t exist.
Still 10 HVARS are completly unbeatable at anty infantry and anti tank duties + you have unlimited ammo + you have bomb…
