The Order Cards Economy

First of all: I’m a paying user. I hold premium and battlepass. Therefor I cannot speak for the F2Pers experience here. Still my evaluation of the economy change is still a rather mixed one

Contrary to my beliefs silver orders haven’t become a huge problem to me - much otherwise than bronze orders. Those are really the most scarce resource.

And I’m even an economically playing person. I don’t nearly try to level up all my soldiers or weapons if better are about to come even 10 levels away, nor do I feel the need to buy every of my soldiers instantly a backpack or ammo pouch or I would quickly be broke on silver orders too.

Yet I feel the bronze economy is the one that needs an overhaul the most. Those orders you get back from selling weapons or soldiers are a joke so it doesnt really make sense to get rid of them but more importantly the cost to level Class III soldiers are close to obscene.

Not sure if that’s the intended endgame but as you run out of campaign levels to unlock much earlier than you managed to max out your ordinary squads or soldiers the progress system to me feels rather unbalanced. For example I see absolutely no reason to buy premium squads at the current stage.

I said it when the new economy launched. It’s not hard to divide total campaign xp per card obtaining rate. Then it’s clear as day there is enaugh silver troop orders to roll for perfect stats (tip below), silver weapons can be rationed if You don’t need all new weapons in large numbers, so there are some left over for equipment or even pistols.

Bronze is where things are worse, as they changed it prior to most eco changes, at least soldier ones.
The thing is, You don’t need all new tiers of soldiers every time, some exceptions:
-assaulter 3 medpack perk is actually usefull,

  • flametrooper 2 extra vitality is worth it.
-tanker 3 faster gear shift maybe, still testing it.
All the other perks are just mostly sidegrades, in some cases i prefer tier 1 perks, like crouching speed for engineers, or jump height for snipers.

And last, but worst eco offender.
It’s around 3-4M xp per campaign, divided by 6k xp for bronze weapon order. Gives 500-700, depending on campaign.
It takes 69 to fully upgrade level 20+ weapons. So You could upgrade like 10 of them.
That is, if You don’t use them to level up lower tiers, which are worth it sometimes, but 18 bronze while not much, adds up while getting multiple guns.
And the vehicle upgrades got changed to bronze to without any clear warning.
Another -200 orders if You want to upgrade one tank.

We need way more bronze weapon orders, at least compared to others.

While tier II Engineers are an absolute necessarily to me thanks to the MG positions only they can build I also thought about using Rifleman III as filler for all those squads that have free slots left just for the reason that they get noteably more bonus points than rifleman I or even II in order to make sure that I get enough points for all the perks I want once they reach V. After all it would suck to invest a silver and those bronze orders into a I or II and then realize that it doesn’t suffice thanks to RNG

For rifleman it’s easy to see if they will level up above 16/16/16, last level adds +6, before that it’s +2. So dude with 4/4/4 level 1 will be enough, i mostly upgrade 5/5/5 ones.
I prefer rifleman II sprint speed perk, combined with extra spint speed, saber and some stamina pek You get fastest man alive, can close 10m distance before bots fire a single round, fun as hell.

Also You don’t need tier II engineers for MG nests, just Engineer squad II, or one of broken premium squads that come along with engineer.

There are many other exceptions, but i wouldn’t spam all new class tiers unless i wanted something specific, like recoil reduction and faster reload speed on snipers, though that requires weapons that are only in 2 campaigns, like mkb or fg.

Thanks for the intel. Till this moment I was under the assumption that when you upgrade a soldier it would be totally random which of the three perk categories would get the boni.

That being said the lower you get in your choice of riflemens lvl the higher’s the chance that you waste a silver order for rolling a rifleman without enough points due to the smaller boni they get. But compared to the much more valuable bronze orders you save that risk is currently worth it in my eyes and possibly not that much of a risk anyway with lvl IIs. Which leaves the question if +15% medpack speed and +1 point in every perk category for available perks after you got the ones you wanted the most is more worth it to anyone then +5.3% sprint speed and a lot of bronze orders saved for leveling. I guess the answer is rather obvious with the current shortage of bronze orders.

That leaves only the theoretical option that this is a beta and all subjects can be changed. Perhaps Darkflow realizes the imbalance and buff riflemen III in the future to make them worth the bronze costs (compareable to Assaulters) so all your bronze investments in LvL2s would become worthless, perhaps they lower the bronze orders cost accordingly so a lot of the invested bronze into lvl3 leveling now would become wasted, perhaps they just increase the income or perhaps they do absolutely nothing. So what we do now is a bit of a gamble but I agree that when looking at the options, lvl3 riflemen make no sense and you better spend it in upgrading lvl2s, which on top most people will always have a need for as they progress through the campaign levels.

Regarding the topic: The daily login boni are very underwhelming either in this regard and in need of adjustment. +1 bronze card for fulfilling a task? Let´s just login for 2 months and you could finally upgrade a single soldier from IV to V. Much wow.

The devs should bump these to something between +5 and +15 regarding the size of the login prize box and we would be in a realm where these login boni, which should inspire people to actually login and play on a daily base after all, start to make sense for the players. Just one additional spot of the bronze order economy that is overall in dire need of an overhaul.
