The new Golden Squad M4A4 (1st PTG)

Last time, the Golden Squad’s Thompson 7.63 brought me immense joy. Perhaps we should take it further—let’s witness the true ‘Fierce Tiger’ in action. Especially since they even recorded Chinese voiceovers for tank crew

thank you for your post.

Personally Id just like to see proper Chinese squads in a tech tree and Sino-Japanese War maps.

At the very least give us more Burma maps and then Id make it that soldiers in Chinese uniforms swap to generic American when fighting in places like Normandy or Tunisia for example.
Admittedly theyd have Chinese voicelines but Id just say they represent Chinese-Americans.

Fun fact: One of our best snipers at Gallipoli was a Chinese-Australian.

don’t expect it, we can’t have thai forces, nor manchukuo or anything because chinese dudes will cry and every post I try show this injustice get censored

Why would China be offended at Thailand being in the game??

Ive seen suggestions for Thailand as a sub faction of Japan which I think is a good way to add more tech to the Japanese tech tree.

There is thai Ha-Go ingame already

but there is not much thing for thai army
most of the unique stuff are bolt rifles

Nothing wrong with some more variety in guns.

There were also some American and French tech which isnt currently in game so why not?

I much rather actual weapons that were used rather than drawn on a piece of paper once prototypes.

Why not?

And the best part is, if someone wouldn’t want to buy a Chinese Sherman…
Soon there will be an option to change the nationality of the soldiers. And then he could buy a classic US tank camouflage over it.

Remaking the tank into classic American Sherman, but with premium bonus.

I am pretty sure it was comfirmed that the nationality change would not be possible for premium and event squads.

Also M4A4 was not used by the US… but by the British ! It was only for Lend-Lease. (Not like this is of any relevance in this game anyway…)

I thought they said BP soldiers and unique event soldiers - basically soldiers with medals.

It would be pretty damn disappointing if I won’t be able to swap Chinese for US soldiers.

True, that’s the version with weird bulges on front of the hull.

But it’s not like I do care about this type of accuracy. For me personally it would be much more immersive than having a Chinese tank in Europe.

Anyway, thanks for further clarification.

because war crimes, chinese people are super sensitive with japan stuff around ww2 period, but ey, we can have the NKVD or the double S and in allied forces units who did horrible stuff, funny fact almost 90% of japan squads are involved in horrible stuff

I didnt know Thailand committed war crimes against China. (thats a topic for elsewhere).

I agree that there are still unresolved issues about WWII in Asia.

However I still think Sino-Japanese War should be an option. Napoleon Total is correct that China is a huge potential market and I think Chinese players would welcome the opportunity to play as their countrymen.
There was a game recently I forget which that did actually do the Sino-Japanese War and it looked really good.

Id also note that this is one of the few instances where DFs idea of doing generic maps actually works.
Nanking for instance is obviously a very contentious battle so just generic Chinese city or rural China would be good.

@道格拉斯麦克阿瑟 道格拉斯麦克阿瑟 What are your thoughts?
I would welcome the Chinese playerbase’s thoughts on Sino-Japanese War in Enlisted overall.

I know one of the problems is the flag since the historically correct flag for China prior to 1949 was the flag currently used by Taiwan/Chinese Taipei. But surely that could be dealt with alright.
In War Thunder the Chinese tech tree uses the PRC flag and then WWII era aircraft and tanks have the pre 1949 era markings.
We could probably use the PRC flag to avoid controversy given that we already use a modified N@zi Germany flag and iirc the regular Japanese flag rather than the wartime Rising Sun.

Chinese players are indeed looking forward to the Sino-Japanese War content in the game. While the tech tree will inevitably include many copy-pasted assets from the U.S., Soviet, German, or Italian arsenals, what Chinese players truly dislike is the developers’ attempt to pad out Japan’s tech tree with “captured Chinese weapons”—even including absurd claims like the so-called “General Liu rifle.” If they want to expand Japan’s tech tree, they should turn to Thailand for assistance instead.
As for the flag issue, in recent years, China’s domestic review policies have relaxed to some extent, allowing the correct flags to appear

Thank you for your input.

Personally Ive never been bothered by copy paste much. It allows for unique and fun lineups. For instance China in War Thunder I can use T34 and M4A4 and M10 in the same lineup.

For Enlisted again Id be fine with a separate China faction. However it seems like DF wants it as a sub faction of USA.

Previously Ive argued China should be a sub faction of USSR as it would add more variety to USSR maps and encourage more players to consider USSR.
As you are aware China used Soviet tech and the USSR tree already has German and American tech so it wouldnt be that crazy adding any American or German tech as necessary for a Chinese arsenal.

Good to hear that the flag is less of an issue. Of course as I said if there was some problem they could just use the contemporary flag.

I agree about the Japan-China weapon problem. Im surprised they havent added the C96 Mauser since Japan used that anyway + captured from China.

But like you say with the General Liu rifle its silly given that China is technically in the USA-UK tree. So why put Chinese tech in Japan tech tree instead of giving it to actual tech tree Chinese squads??

While DF hasnt said they want to go to the Cold War yet, it is unfortunate China is not its own faction OR a part of USSR since it means the Korean War would be weird with Chinese and United Nations tech in the same tree.

I guess well see. I want to see customisation added in the form of flags where you click and it makes squads a certain nation not just the big factions but smaller nations like my country Australia.

This could apply to tank squads so with an M4A4 you press the Chinese flag and the crew gets Chinese appearance and voicelines and Chinese markings like 1st PTG. Same for British or Free French.
