I believe you, but I can’t find it.

It is in the reaserch line on the bottom under the normal unlocks, and its around the middle of that I think

You will not find Fax Max in the research page but in the special offers section of the shop.

Ho-ri reached the testing stage but never left the mainland

Lol source for Ho-Ri was planned to have a 7.5cm cannon?

This is something I need to say, check the other link Wen you search something and don’t stop at the first one, this isn’t the only article reporting this and all of them actually state they used information from Tokio ww2, Museum (yushakan)

Now because all the information on those article are the same we found in the game description an stats, I truly believe those are mostly true

Yes, I know.
I was intrigued when I found it in War Thunder, so I tried to find a lot of information about it in English, Japanese, and Chinese. But many of the sources I’ve seen are conflicting, with some claiming it was only a wooden model, only the main gun being built, or it was a completed prototype.

So I think this is a controversial weapon, and some people are even fabricating facts about it, and basically I don’t believe that a fully functional prototype like the one in the game actually exists.

The reason why I don't believe it

The statement about the " 試製五式砲戦車" Ho-Ri that has built an operational prototype comes from the Korean “스메라기 아케이코”
Who also provide this wooden model picture ,this design is used in games like WT and WOT.
375px-Experimental_Type_5_gun_tank_Ho-Ri_mock-up_scale_model_01
But soon some Japanese historians refuted it based on the information they found.
The pictures you provided are also one of the “evidences” – It clearly does not match the appearance claimed by “스메라기 아케이코”

And it is also very suspicious that about “its series completion is 50%”. It is known that Ho-Ri has 3 sub-models
Ho-Ri I: modified by Chi-Ri, with 37mm secondary gun
Ho-Ri II: modified by Chi-Ri, the engine is at the rear, so some designs are equipped with 20mm AA.
Ho-Ri III: Closer to what it looks like in the game

Why argue about more prototype tanks when Germany had Marder and many other dick maxi style SPGs?

Indeed they are but this is true just because no one really has access to Japanese military documents like the one in their Tokyo ww2, museum, we can just put together everything and make ourselves an idea, still because Gaijin has an actual historical team and Hori history on warthunder wiki is similar as what you can read in other wiki or forum to, I believe that the hori production model was made, tested and it never left the mainland because the war was over

Also

Hori 1 and 2 are just wooden tank for understand how the final one should come out, the 3 was the actually built prototype evolved in the one used in game, if we trust the source

The Dicker Max is among my favourite vehicles in WT, and I was so excited when it first came to Enlisted. But it was quite underwhelming at first as it was only usable for this game’s Stalingrad campaign, and post-merge the Dicker Max was under BR IV which was a joke, as it’s a very situational type of vehicle, lacks armor, is open top, has no MG, etc. But then when it was lowered to BR III that was one of the best improvements a vehicle has gotten in this game, IMO.

As the old adage says; “No armor is best armor” as this fat guy can take so many shots on the transmission without exploding.

And it just looks badass

I wish we could have grey camo for it.

You mean this guy and his/her blog

A Chinese “history fan” once compiled the conflict between him and this gaijin “collaborator”. I recommend you use a translator and read it.

(It contains some discriminatory terms. This article cannot directly prove that the Ho-Ri prototype does not exist, but it does point out that Seon Eun-Ae is misleading.)
Another thing is Seon Eun-Ae(MaiWaffentrager) herself even accused warthunder of fabricating Ho-Ri stat in reddit.

No I mean the people you see with the tag historian on war thunder or enlisted forum

And they do extensively research about a vehicle or emblem to add before proposing it for the game

Also

The Link you posted of the two Asian isn’t anymore then the same discussion we have having now, we don’t have access to the sources we need and so we use what we can find on the net, and what we currently find on the net stated hori production was completed and tested and therefore it Is possible add it because is historically accurate

By the way I missed the discussion was already answered so the topic is closed @Meatfraud if you have other questions to ask, be free to do it the community dont bite

I suggest you to purchase it, is a funny tank to play with it :raised_hand_with_fingers_splayed:
