I cleaned the computer a couple months ago when I was moving from one Philippine Island to another, and it is probably due again. I am not sure what Tj. Max is, but I see CPU below. Ok, just googled, it said Tj Max is the maximum safe operating temperature of the system. So, I need to monitor the temp as maybe that is what I thought it was operating at, and maybe it wasn’t running that high. I had MSI Afterburner on my old computer which allowed me to see temps while I was playing, so going to add it to this one.
idk man when I was on ultra it was running a bit hot and now that I have it on medium its pretty cool being around 130f to 150f but when I had it on ultra it was around 170f ( I would need to double check it but it was around those number ). I do have my frames capped but even in settings it says having some settings on ultra would cause more power consumption/ utilization on gpu and cpu. its not huge but a 10-20 Fahrenheit difference can go a long way
checking it rn and on idle in the squad custimization its around 95-100 Fahrenheit
in training grounds its around 130 Fahrenheit for both in medium ( cpu went up to 140f after a few custom matches)
when on ultra the cpu jumped to 150-160f and gpu went up to 140-150 Fahrenheit max running a few minutes on both settings and restarting the game
cpu #0 being at 55c when idle is fine and it seems max at 64c under load which is also safe and fine. if its a computer station you should focus more on the GPU temps since those would be more fragile
you only need to check max temperature for your actual temperature
use °C like civilized world does
like i said if you have fps capped, then you will run cooler cause CPU/GPU needs less energy to draw e.g. 100 fps in medium than 100 fps in ultra setting. but if you run it uncapped, then you will be either CPU or GPU bound, so one component always works more than the other.
77° C(or 170°F) is normal operating temperature for CPU and GPU. thermal paste will dry up in couple of years after usage and 10-15°C wont save it. if you plan to use computer for multiple years, then be ready to replace thermal paste.
btw if you want to have lower temperature without sacrificing quality, then i would recommend undervolting your CPU and GPU. this requires some time to get it correct cause lowering too much could lead to instability and crashes.
I have to use google to convert C to F. Just like I really don’t know cm and meters, I am much better in feet and inches. Every two months I have to go renew my visa here in the Philippines, and the application always asks my height and weight in the metric system, so I have to keep it on my phone because I only know feet, inches and lbs…
for me 77 celsius is too hot for my gpu I would rather it stay around 55 celsius because the difference from medium to high is hardly noticeable and the difference from medium to ultra is noticeable but isn’t worth the temps maybe during winter ill switch to ultra to use it as a heater lol
thats a bit hot but under heavy load its fine like robihr said. I would suggest turning off those high quality clouds all the way at the bottom of the settings and maybe lowering the water quality to medium if you want it to drop a few degrees
